and then turned around and said that you dont have to follow the old testement anymore because he died on the cross.

Im just curious how you can use an old testament passage to attack homosexuals, and in turn, say you no longer have to follow the old testament.

Do all of you "new testament" followers vote yes for gay marriage due to not having to follow the old testament then?

No, I do not use LEV.
I use a verse in the New Testament.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Paul is combining homosexuality with adultry, prositutes, thieves, etc. None of those look like a holy life (he even calls them "wicked"), so therefore I believe homosexuality should be looked at in the same light.

BUT, again, I think Christians are messed up for attacking homosexuals. Why? Seriously, why? As I said before, they are in the same category as adulterers, prositutes, etc. We may not agree with that lifestyle but we don't attack them.

I think homosexuality is an issue that many people deal with, just like alcoholics struggle with alcohol, thieves with stealing, or porn addicts with porn. Nothing more. So many Christians struggle with other issues listed in the SAME category, so why pick on those who struggle with one of those issues?

It's ridiculous. But that's just my 2 cents.

Also, I don't know about not following the old testament...it's not like we should completely discard it. A lot of "Christians" dont really read their Bible and therefore cannot fully understand what it's saying. A verse here and there won't give you the full meaning. That's why there are so many problems with Christians (such as homosexuality etc).

Feel free to respond back on your thoughts!

Societies can opt for a 'gay marriage' concept if they like. It might be better in some ways, as it would encourage people to stay together, and that is usually better than divorces.

However, I think you could not be a New Testament guided christian and believe that it would be a sexual union approved of by God. So many pastors are not keen to have christian ceremonies involved in such civil marriages. Although a hypothetical marriage to an animal is far far worse, you can see from that really wild future possibility the principle more clearly - just because people might like and want a certain form of marriage and sexual relation, doesn't mean that God approves of it as an institution.

Probably subsequent time your instructor goes off you might ask, Who used to be the e-book of Leviticus written for? Who was this tribe of Levitt's. Why do some demand that we become aware of targeted verses from the book of Leviticus but we then ignore the relaxation. As an example. The ebook of Leviticus Chapter 12:three "And within the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin might be circumcised." how many boys on this group are usually not circumcised and if they are not must we be condemning them to hell as rapid as we do homosexuals. Of those who are, what number of were completed at the suitable time. The eighth day. If the fears are correct, "homosexual marriage will smash society," what then is happening in Canada in these days, they adopted identical sex marriage in 2005. Others nations had before this and others have feel this, Why has their society did not been ruined. When folks quote books like the Bible, don't just take delivery of what they are saying, look it up and examine the occasions, what ebook is it, who wrote it and what verses are being neglected and why. Who mentioned we can edit out the ones we do not like. Why is there no verse quoting God or Jesus on the subject?

Lev 20 lists all the adultery/fornication/idolatry sins. Sexual sins is a sexual act against Gods purpose since the beginning. In the beginning the man was to leave his parents, find his women, & they two shall become one flesh.

So? This is the verse I use. And also the dictionary defines marriage as one man & one women united in marriage.

Jesus confirmed this is Gods purpose also (in the Gospels).

In the New Testament, those made clean by Jesus shed blood, some used to be fornicators or adulterers or idolaters; but not any more because Jesus atonement washed away their sins & they weren't the old man anymore, but a new creation in Christ Jesus.

We must follow the entire Word of God. Lev 18:22 and 20:13 both say the Homosexuals are an abomination and Rev 21:27 plainly states that 'there shall in no wise enter into it (the city of God) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie:' As for 'the ordnance of handwriting' which is the Mosaic law, that is what was nailed to the cross along with the Lamb of God, who was our willing sacrifice, we no longer have to kill the innocent blood, although we still are required to keep/do the 10 commandments of God and to be Holy as God is Holy.

NEVER. It is theologically dishonest to argue against any behavior based on the Mosaic Law.

Matthew 19:4-6 is all that's needed:

4 And He [Jesus] answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

There are also references to homosexuality being condemned in the New Testament:

1 Cor. 6:9-10 -- 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:24-27 -- 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

why attack people b/c their views may differ from yours , regardless of what they are ; Judgment is Gods , plain, pure and simple; until that time, I have to be accountable for my life, my actions etc; God will take care of the rest; how can you see the speck in eye of your neighbor when you you can't see the log in your own

Hey!, you are expecting consistency and logic from religion.

The people I like get the relaxed rules. The people I don't like get the harsh rules.

The covenant of animal sacrifice was put away with in Christ's resurrection........

His resurrection didn't suddenly make homosexuality ok.

Common sense will dictate this to anyone. Please understand the Scriptures before trying to twist them.
