A Christian on "milk" cannot grasp moderate to advanced theological concepts. It has nothing to do with how long the person has been saved. I know some Christians who've been believers for many years, but they're still on "milk." However, Jesus commanded us to be His disciples, which means "learners." So He expects us to be on "meat" at some point. A "meat" Christian understands and can discuss advanced theological matters; can teach reliably and accurately; is humble; and never stops learning. He or she has an insatiable desire to know God's word intimately.

EDIT: < blush > Thank you for the compliment, but I assure you I'm far from perfect.

The difference is when a christian is on milk that person hears the word and that is it, but when a christian eats meat they not only hear the word but apply it to their everyday life.

Sigh...you guys and your metaphors.
A Christian who walks on milk will have white feet and a Christian who walks on meat will have bloody feet...Jesus who walked on water simply got wet feet.
