There is nothing to be done against "global warming". Climate change is a natural occurrence. At any time the climate will either be warming or cooling.
There is no such thing as static climate.

I cashed out of a big city, sold my business and house and moved to the country. No more commute, no more debt, no longer a wage slave, no longer working for a large corporation (indirectly) and no longer the Dad for thirty employees...
Bought some land and will be living in my 30' yurt for another year while we build a zero energy straw bale house with all the latest planet friendly technology; active solar, passive solar, photo voltaics, earth plasters, rammed earth thermal mass floors with embedded radiant heat, R-50 walls, R48 ceilings, solar day lighting, 74% efficient wood burning stove with an adobe thermal mass wall behind it, high tech septic with a drip system to water the fruit trees, grape vines and veggy garden... a rain water roof collection system with sand and reverse osmosis filtration connected to a 20,000 gallon cistern, LED night lighting and more stuff than most will want to read about...
Because I know how to build a load bearing straw bale house and use local materials (clay), I have already been retained to build 2 more houses. It fills my heart with joy as people come and see what can be done with an open mind and a green concept.
The ultimate goal will be to use my wholesale distribution experience to develop load bearing straw bale house kits from several models for builders (like the old house kits you could get from Sears 50 years ago, a complete house in a box so to speak), and also offer work shops so people can learn how to build their own. (give a man a fish or teach him how to fish...)
We hope to compete against the mobile home industry on the lower end, because I refuse to build Mac Mansions or anything over 2,000 square feet.
I am working with the local Habitat for Humanity branch to build a load bearing straw bale home through their program next year, but many of the local traditional builders are not happy with the idea... standard resitance to change.

Keep the eco-warriors from sinking ships in the Antarctic. They went there to look for evidence and sunk the ship full of fuel. Oh my god the damage. Should they be arrested for pollution or littering?
