When they like a girl they show lots of interest at first and sometimes let her know they like her. Then as soon as she shows interest back, they withdraw or suddenly don't seem that interested no more?

Girls and Guys do this and its called "the chase". Unfortunately, it is annoying as hell and you should let them know that you don't like it.

To answer this may be a violation of the Guy Code, but I'll try anyway.
Some guys don't think they have a chance, so when they get a positive response, they panic. Others panic anyway. Sometimes the woman comes on too strong and drives them away. And some, unfortunately, are playing games with you (that often comes from having been on the receiving end of games women play with them).
Your best bet is to not slam the door on a possible relationship, but don't wait too long or act needy.

To start with all guys arent like that. Guys are different even as Girls are different.l Never rule out the possibility that you are attracting these kinds of guys. Either they see something they like and change their mind when they get to know you or they like to flirt but cant get out of a relationship they are in. Another possibility is they just want the assurance that they can turn a head and then move on. If you have a good friend ask him or her if there is something you are not seeing in your approach. Other wise try to find some one in a different way than you are used to.

Those are guys that don't know what they want. I think those types just like to look at what you got and when you come up to him then it all changes. I don't understand why guys do that because they give me a bad name. I would talk to you and show interest back to you if you came up to me.

Men treat women like window shopping...they try a girl on like a shirt...if it looks and feels nice they'll buy it....but if they wore it a few times and it still looks new they won't pop the tag and they will return it right back to the store since they didn't cause any damage....but the shirt will never be the same.....point blank...they are assholes!

because some of them is so full of them selvesand like to play games .and those r the ones we should leave alone but we don't and then we play the game too ,but we hope not to get hurt at the end and some of us do .but now we can not let them know that we care too .just be a little cold, for as long as you can .

I think its because a lot of guys like the chase,if a girl dosent like him he will chase after her until she maybe starts to but if he can get her really easy and she will just fall for him,its not fun for him.
i dont know if im right but from my perspective thats how it is.

I think that everyone is a bit insecure when they like someone...maybe he thought you would never go for him. And for some it is just the thrill of the chase.....once they know they can have what they wanted it isn't any fun anymore.

playing hard to get or maybe its because they like the game of cat and mouse where ur the mouse and he is the cat chasing u , guys reallly love a changelle but when u give in quickly theres nothing left to chance....
