What do you do if you have problems with "Lust of the Flesh?"?

Especially if you're reality was warped from child abuse. You end up relating things that have nothing to do with "fleshly sins," to it because you were abused and introduced to the "wrong things" as a child.

I need your prayers, and I will pray for others who have this problems.

First step is to realize that it's a problem. Then try to find a counselor or therapist that specializes in treating that type of problem. Prayer is also a good way to heal esp when you are being tempted. Also separating yourself from everything that could trigger the lust like, not reading or watching programs that bring out certain feelings. It can be done remember the fruit of the spirit one of them being self-control.

I was a victirm of sexual abuse myself. For some reason, that didn't slow me down. No charges were pressed because we had had consenxual sex before and I just didn' tthink they would believe me over him. I do have a problem with lust of the flesh. I relate my problem to my past failed relationships. I've been cheated on more times than I can remember which makes me think guys only care about sex. so it's like I have sex with no strings attached. I guess you can call it "sex for fun." I do only have one partner so I guess that's the good thing out of it. Maybe I was meant to be alone for the rest of my life. Who knows? I've been praing to god and it's helping me deal with it more and more each day. I just hate the fact that I was done so wrong in love and I can't seem to find the right one for me. You will get over this because I will be praying to God for you.

As for his slur on Christianity: What you need to do is find some real Christians and stay away from the hypocrites. That's what Jesus meant by not casting your pearls before swine in Mat 7:6. Read the whole chapter to get an overview.

pray and you dont ever stop praying...the Devil is a sick bastard and he wont stop...you have my prayers and support. I have been there, but was lucky to get out of it early. If you need to talk dont ever hesitate to contact me...it's when you are weak that you are strong in prayer. The Lord IS with you, dont ever forget that. i was sexually molested when i was younger and put a stop to it. i got help. i dont know if it was due to that or if i was born that way, i have always been a sexual person, i've plenty of bfs but only 2 sexual partners. i'm still a very sexual person but i dont have sex...it's a struggle child, it's a HUGE struggle but i feel that at the end it's worth it.

Also get professional help if you have the money...do Both!

The best thing you can do is simply to plead with God. Beg Him for the grace needed to overcome. Realize that you're powerless against your flesh and it's desires and choose to fight, placing distrust in yourself and confidence in God. Pray for a renewed heart. Everytime you feel the urge to fulfill the desires of your flesh cry out Him. Resist the devil and he will flee.

Pray also for patience, for this may take a long time. Be confident that by each time you deny your flesh it's desires you're giving God glory.

Due to lack of proper knowledge and being illusioned by the objects of senses we often get attracted to things.

Human life if very precious and if we do not use this life with proper care and do not take shelter to highrer knowledge our life is non different than a hog or dog or even a worm in stool.

Every living beings are always trying to find happiness and using the present from for body(human body, animal body, tree etc) to enjoy this material world. We hanker for money, post and position , beautiful wife, handsome husband, nice house etc. etc. But does that satisfy us ? The same things to which we are attached too much becomes the root cause of our miseries. That's the law of this land as established by the Supreme Lord. This place is full of miseries and temporary.


We have so many desires and most of those would never get fulfilled. So we come back again with a different body, a rich man, poor man, born in a rich country or a poor country , a dog, cat, snake, tree or whatever is suitable for us accordingly to the desire and nature we develop after having this human birth.

We are accoutable for our every actions. We might think that I did some bad things and no one noticed and I escaped. My dear friend, it is not that easy. This air, sun light, moon light, water etc within which we are living are all watching us all the time. Our know actions get unnoticed , even our thoughts too.

Every one of us are unsatisfied. Whatever is your desire at thie moment, if got all those , still in the next moment some new desire will pop up in your mind ! Think about it.

Contemplating of sense objects we become attached to that and when we can't get those objects we get angry. From anger delusion and from delution madness and we fall down and become the slave of one of our senes.

We are trying to satisfy our senses using this gross body which is made of bones, blood,flesh, stools, pus and urine.

We are not what we thing we are ? We are not this body. We are spirit souls. The soul is eternal, blissful and full of knowledge but due to our attachments to to the matter our knowledge got polluted and due to the smallness of our soul it get easily illusioned by the material qualities like goodness, passion and ignorance.

THIS IS THE HIGHER KNOWLEDGE that once we cultivate we re-awake our real identity that we are part of GOD and our real joy comes when the soul becomes happy by trancendental knowledge.

Without the proper knowledge, as long as we try to satisfy our senses by touching, smelling, tasting, hearing and looking , we will have problems all the time till our last breathe.

We should use the same senses to purify us not to contaminate us and that is only possible by good association and cultivation of higher knowledge.

Cry out loudly by the name of GOD (Krishna, Jesus or whatever faith you are) and surrender yourself completely and I am sure The LORD will purify you in no time.

First step - don't refer to yourself as "deelishous". That type of self-description will, most likely, tend to cause some people to direct suggestive comments towards you. That will probably only make it harder for you to avoid thinking about sexual things.

I'm sorry if you experienced that type of abuse as a child. That type of thing should never happen to anyone.

You should seek professional counseling to help you work through your problems. Participation in a support group may help as well.

Christianity will probably be a horrible, horrible way to try to deal with the types of problems you face. You probably already have tons of negative and conflicting emotions in regards to sexual issues. Christianity will only make this worse by piling a load of guilt issues on top of your pre-existing problems.
