I definitely have to say a young Roy Jones' reflexes, if not handspeed as well, was faster than Mayweather's. I'm not 100% sure who, but I believe it was against Vinny Pazienza, Roy Jones went a whole round without having a single punch landed on him. That was the first time anyone had did that since punchstat has kept track on punch totals.

To me I would have to say yes. Only because Mayweather can adapt to any of his oppents. Mayweather speed is what makes his game look flawless. Roy was a great fighter as well but not as flawless as Mayweather makes look. Even Mayweathers defense is better than young Roys. Their both greats and the answer can go both ways.

Mayweather is not faster, no. Roy had faster combos and better reflexes. He relied more on his reflexes than Floyd as well, as his technique was not as tight as Floyd's yet he was able to be even more effective.

I agree with Elmer, Roy Jones reflexes are supernatural at best.

To a certain extent, yes( though there have been many fighters as fast as Roy over the years ). Plus, his technique is tighter.

Everyone needs to pull out some old tapes of Roy.
How quickly we forget.
Roy was lightning fast and he threw unbelievable combinations.
Roy was clearly the faster of the 2 fighters.

I would say that RJ was faster I wii also say this that RJ is the greatest fighter that has ever lived

Close in hand speed, yes. But nowhere near in reflexes. RJJ was superhuman when it came to reflexes.
