Weight limit no. Physical ability test yes...annually!!
Too many cops let them selves go and let criminals get away...TRUST ME I KNOW

And I'm supposed to take your question seriously? How bout this, next time you see a cop rolling through your neighborhood, stuff your hand in your pocket, look him in his face, and take off running. If he catches you, I guess their wight limets are okay.

No, they should have ability and performance requirements, not a function of weight alone. Heck, look at a guy like Julius Peppers, he's around 300 pounds but can run 40 yards in 4.4 sec. I'd take a guy like that on the police force any day!

There should probably be a weight limit just as much as there should be a spelling requirement on here. :(
On a serious note, yes, depending what area of "law enforcement" you mean. Police officers, as in real police, not security and the like are usually required to be in top physical shape.
Desk job officers, yes, but at the same time if the job doesn't warrant it, then employers can't really enforce it.

I am a cop, and while I don't look like a greek god, I am in decent shape, now you make me wear a vest (body armor) and a gun belt, I look a lot fatter. In fact, I have been told I look like I lost weight when someone sees me in civillian clothes for the first time.
Just picture how fat you's look if you wore something the size of a down vest under your shirt?

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you want them to have some sort of lime? You want to throw limes at them?
Many police departments have fitness standards the officers must meet. Others do not. They also have to read and write the English language clearly.
