what are peoples views on 2012?

there is building evidence that an event is gping to happen in 2012 what do you all make of this?

There is believed to be a cycle that the solar system undergoes in which the earths pole shifts.

The evidence for this is Petrified Forest under the ice caps.

Mass extinctions.

The I-Ching and the Mayan calendar end in 2012 signalling a possible shift.

My house was flooded a few years ago showing changes in climate.

If you have all forgotten about hurricane Katerina and the Tsunami the earth is becoming unstable.

The Schumann’s resonance is changing

Einstein even predicted it has happened in the past and will happen in the future.

And so on and so on.

Ignore it all if you like.

I've had that date (Dec. 21) on my Palm Pilot calendar for about three years now. On 12/21 my reminder will say "Five years until the end of the world."

The Mayans were an interesting people. Amazingly advanced in their mathematics and astronomy for an ancient society.

I don't think it will change the behavior of too many people, though.

Lots of events are going to happen in 2012.

The Olympics will be held in London, for example.


People will die, people will be born. There will be wars, famines, earthquakes and hurricanes. It will rain every single day of the year, somewhere in the Earth. Just like every year. There will be a presidential election in the US, and the year will have an extra day compared to the year before.

The most interesting thing about 2012 for me is what excuses all these doomsayers are going to come up with when 2013 rolls around.

Noastradamus who is considered one of the great seers predicted several dates for the end of the world and we're still here. 2012 may/might have some celestrial event, but it's doubtful that it'll be the end of the world. For those out there that don't research anything or watch Cable/Sat TV...The Mayan Calendar stops at that date so many believe it'll be the end of the world. PEACE!

Do you have a link for this evidence? I'm not trying to insult you, I'd just like to see it. Their was a large body of evidence that the world was going to end in 1985 and 2000, but we are still here. People will always speculate about the end of the world, but I think it is unlikely that we will actually know.

What building evidence? The Mayan calendar ends then but that is not evidence. Think about it why would you think that a basically stone age people would be able to prophecy the end of the world?

There are those who beleive that it will not end just start over agin. Some think it will be such a profound change that it would seem like the end to some. What ever happens there is nothing we can do about it so why worry.

It's nonsense. The biggest event of 2012 will be something on the order of a thwarted terrorist attack on the London Games, not the rebirth of the Jaguar God.
