to run crazy in the library? I was in the library last night and this man was talking to some woman (flirting) at the time his small son (about 4-5) was literally screaming and acted like he was flying down the isles. Dad only laughed at him, this went on for a good 10 minutes until I had to leave. Anyone else think this is ok (yes I mentioned it to the librarian but she shrugged it off)?

They even have a childrens room on the other side of the library that children can play in

even the librarians were talking on their cell phones..... I would have said something if I wasnt so annoyed, if I did open my mouth it wouldnt have been nice so I bit my tongue and left.

I think that man should have diciplined his child. It isn't right to let them run wild in any public place or store but especially a library! I mean don't they have the "SHHHH" signs at the front door?? i hate when I see a parent that doesn't teach their child respect... it's a shame.

Not OK. A library is a place that requires rules and they must be stressed before entering and enforced inside. Otherwise the tranquillity of others is compromised. This man was being selfish and ignoring his child because he was occupied with the woman. If I was you I would have politely interrupted the man and asked him to please get control of his child because it was disturbing people. It would have been nice if the librarian had done this, since its more her place.

Stop being a tattle tale! lol Yes, its annoying, but what is ratting them out to the librarian going to do? And no, I personally dont let my daughter do that anywhere but home or playgrounds and such. But you cant force other parents to be the way you want them to so your gunna hafta get over it.

NO. My son knew how to behave at the library by the time he was 1.

Bratty kid most likely. Dad should have said something but if flirting is more important then he needs to find a sitter and go flirt.
