Any cat of any age that stops using the litter box is suspect. The first step is a visit to the Vet to find out if there is any organic problem such as an infection. If the kitty checks out normal, then you need to try to figure out what is keeping her from using the box.
Did something scare her while she was using the box? Try a different box, different litter and put it in a different location. I had a girlfriend who could not figure out why her cat had accidents in the winter. Turns out that the litter box was near the furnace and the furnace would suddenly kick on unexpectedly. The cat was just afraid of the noise. Putting the box upstairs solved the winter problem.
Good luck. Hope all is well with your kitten.

It's an instint for cats and kittens to go to the bathroom in the litter box...and mommy cats will usually train the kittens before they ever go home with someone else.
And since she was going in the box fine and all of a sudden isn't...I would think that it's probably a medical problem...a UTI or something simillar....I would take her to the vet and get it checked out!!
Also make sure the box is clean...some cats won't go in a box if it's a little dirty. Make sure the box is in a low-traffic area also.
Good luck!!

Anytime a cat stops using a litter box and starts using the house, something is wrong. Please get your kitty to the vet ASAP. She needs antibiotics if it is indeed a urinary tract infection. A uriniary tract infection can cause many more problems. It would be much easier to treat the problem now than to deal with some of the problems it can cause in the long run. Your kitty is probably irritated and the litter in the box hurts her. This is what happened to mine. Please take her to the vet.

I dunno if someone said this already, but is your litter perfumed? Because cats have sensitive noses (way more than ours but less than dogs) if it is only slightly scented to get rid of the bad smells it will really bother the cat. Try all natural cat litter that has natural odor get-rid-of things. It may be more expensive, but some cats could even be allergic to the perfumes!

she may just be marking her territory or she could be developing a urinary tract in fection. please consult with a vet if it persist. Have you suddenly changed her food litter box or type of litter? Could be she doesn't like the change. If you have other cats she could be doing it for the attention.

Well this is what i heard is that you rub the kittens nose in its pee then go to the spot you want it to pee in and rub its nose there. Do this every time it pees in the wrong place. I know it sounds bad but it works.
