It is unknown exactly when or why December 25 became associated with Christ's birth. The New Testament does not give a specific date.

Sextus Julius Africanus popularized the idea that Christ was born on December 25 in his Chronographiai, a reference book for Christians written in AD 221. This date is nine months after the traditional date of the Incarnation (March 25), now celebrated as the Feast of the Annunciation.

March 25 was considered to be the date of the vernal equinox and therefore the creation of Adam; early Christians believed this was also the date Christ was crucified. The Christian idea that Christ was conceived on the same date that he died on the cross is consistent with a Jewish belief that a prophet lived an integral number of years.

Thus, the date as a birthdate for Christ is traditional, and is not considered to be his actual date of birth.

Verse: It doesn't.
Explanation: Christianity is not based on the Bible. Christians were celebrating Christmas on December 25th long before the Bible. They chose that date because they believed it was when Jesus was born (and not, as some people think, because Christianity was based on a pagan holiday).

there is no verse. The reason Christmas is celebrated on the 25th is because of the Winter Solstice. In Jesus' time, the people were afraid that the sun would not rise after the solstice, and when they saw the sun again, they rejoiced. Jesus is the light of the world, so it only makes sense to have that holiday the day the sun starts rising again. I think it also has something to do with the resurrection

It doesn't. The Bible does not prohibit celebrating Christmas on December 25, either.

December 25th was the date selected by the catholic Church centuries ago.

No where is any record of Jesus or any of his close associates ever celebrating a birthday especially Jesus'. They knew the law as recorded in Eccles. 7:1 which says the day of ones death is better than one's birthday. There are only two birthdays recorded in the Bible. Both were marked by faithful ones being murdered.

Dec. 25th is the pagan feast of Saturnalia. This was added to "Christian" beliefs by the beginnings of the Catholic church to make it more acceptable for pagans to accept. They did this much of the time as long as it added to their money and power. Christmas got the tree and yule log from the Druids to get them in the same way.

Some how it made no difference to the "Christians" how fluid their beliefs were. The views of Jesus and the apostles did not matter to them as long as they got their percentage of money and political power. Galatians 5:9 saying "a little leaven ferments the whole lump" was completely lost on them.

The Bible does not mention Christmas, nor when Jesus was born. Society simply chose December 25 as a day to celebrate the savior's birth and called it "Christ"mas. It really doesn't matter when he was born, just that he was born, and it doesn't matter when you celebrate.

Short and to the point:

The bible never mentions Christmas or even gives a date on which Jesus was born. 25th day of December actually was when a pagan festival was held.

Dec 25th is the date that some people settled on, many years ago.

It wasn't in the Bible. In fact, Bible scholars don't think that the actual date of Jesus' birth was in December at all.

It doesn't say what day Christ was born. Others who have more time on their hands than I will have to give you the research in order to tell you why we celebrate it on that day though.
