My car overheated early this morning and I told my boss that i had to call triple AAA. What else can I add so I don't have to go in to work today?

Seriously, if you want an unscheduled day off and can't bring yourself to be up front with your boss, you should come up with your own excuses. After that, maybe you should look for a job that you're more interested in.

You can't add anything you should be at work. If I was your boss and you tried that excuse I would say you better be here within an hour. And if you weren't there then you can take a week off for not being at work. You would have plenty of time not to have to go to work. Good Luck being a lousy employee.

Tell your boss that not only did your car overheat but you locked your keys in the car and now you can't even get in your house :-)

Tell him that you not only had to wait forever for the tow truck to come but that when he did he could not get the crane to work and had to wait for another truck to come to get the car towed. It just might be my luck but it has happened to me before. hope it works

tell them when your car over heated it blew the gasket, which is a vital part olf the engine
