If you don't believe then why do you go onto the R&S section. Surely if you don't have any religion then there is no point,

I usually don't drink at lunch, but here goes.

The best reason to be here is to monitor the efforts people make to impose their religious rules on those who do not believe as they do.

The second best reason is to try to instill a modicum of doubt in people so that they will STOP trying to impose rules that they've chosen to follow but that others find frankly silly.

The third best reason is to have a chance to conviviate with other atheists.

Of course , you can't help but notice that your question is addressed to Atheists . So are a great many . If no Atheists read R & S questions , how could they answer the questions directed to Atheists ?
Also R&S is not only for believers , but for anyone interested in religions . Many of us are . Some know about all of the world's religious beliefs . Do you ?
You're saying there's no use studying religion if you don't have one of your own . It's like saying there's no use studying world history because we only live in the present . No use studying world geography , because we only live in one place . Knowledge never hurt anyone , even religious superstition .

You are serious? You don't think that religion affects or interests atheists?

religion affects the world I live in. Does it not affect yours?

Do you not want to know about other religions, about science, art, philosophy? About what different atheists, hindus, buddhists, agnostics believe? Then why are you here? Why wouldn't you rather be at a Christian forum?

Should you not ask questions about bullfighting unless you are a bull? Or cookery unless you are a root vegetable?

Maybe there is no point in asking or answering questions regarding politics unless you are a politician?

Or maybe you shouldn't be in the history section unless you are a Roman Centurion? There is simply no point!?

Need I go on? Why would a Christian go to the GLBT section , etc?

YAY! A drinking game!!!

ahem... (*drinks*)

An enlightened person, in general, regardless of belief or lack thereof, seeks knowledge and information. It would be very short-sighted of them to exclude any information if they want to continue to grow. Atheists are not excluded from that group of people. In fact, "knowledge" and "proof" are at the very heart of Atheism, if you get right down to it. So it would make perfect sense that an Atheist would come here just as much as an Atheist might visit Psychology, Philosophy, or Science and Mathematics.

Some atheists are spiritual. :)

Dude: That's why you save your answer in a Word document. Then you can copy and paste! ;)

Lol, then why post a question in this section, titled like yours??? I think this would be a rather boring section without us. It also comforts me to see I'm not the only one out there, thinking the way I do.

Number 1: I'm an Agnostic, but I'm also a Buddhist. Christians do not own this section, every other belief system has a right to be here.

Number 2: You don't have to believe in something to find discussing it interesting.

To the Atheists out there:
To make up for the Bush administrations erosion of the line between church and state, I suggest that we double our clandestine dinosaur-bone planting efforts!!!

R&S means religion and spirituality. They are not the same thing. One may be deeply spiritual and have not a religious bone in their heads. However, that concept is much to difficult for a mere Xian to grasp. I forgive you your ignorance, go in peace.

Why do Christians keep coming here?

Not having a religion doesn't mean we're not interested in religion - especially when it affect our lives for the worse.

Maybe they come here cause there is no atheist section, or maybe they just want to bother us, in my case i don't give a dime.
