You have one answer saying this translates into a basic form of acceptance?
How that conclusion was reached I have no idea!
The only message I got from it all was that homosexuals should be pitied and they have a problem, the implication is also that homosexuality is not so bad as long as it is not practiced???
I cant see many taking up this advise.
As a religious group that also say Sex is for procreation only, and certainly not to be an act carried out without marriage , and should only be enjoyed because the idea is to produce babies! who in their right mind is going to listen to that waffle!
Birth control is also taboo of course, the logic behind that is quite simple, if sex is only for procreation why would folk need birth control.
The whole concept is archaic, imagine the husband saying to his wife "Lets have an early night tonight lover" The wife replies "But darling I have given you 8 children already"!!! Unbelievable.
I think it's time I moved back to my own planet , I've seen just about every thing here on earth.

It means that it is not wrong or totally freakish to be a homosexual, but that it is wrong to practice homosexuality, so these persons must be chaste to stay in the state of grace. They can offer up their suffering (from having to practice abstinence and not marry as they would like) in unison with the suffering of Christ to atone for sins.
edit: It also calls heterosexuals to respect homosexuals and treat them equally because they are equal in dignity.
I fully agree with this teaching.
