I wouldn't call children sinful. It's psychology. Children develop certain traits at certain ages and come to certain understandings of the way the world works at different times. Some advance quicker than others but for example, between ages 2 and 3 a child is developing their ego. This is a very selfish time for them partially because they view themselves as the center of the world, everything thing else around them are like objects. This isn't to say that children are cold hearted or careless, it's just the way the human mind develops. Around age 7 is known as the age of reasoning. It is when a child really begins to understand right from wrong and can make their own decisions based on that knowledge, as opposed to be being told what choice to make.
Why do we teach them? It is our responsibility and because we love them. They are innocent creatures. Maybe 'up there' they get whatever they want whenever they want at the snap of a finger and maybe what we call a process of development is actually a process of adaptation to this world.
As far as sin, I don't really believe in it. Do good and be good because it feels good, not because you are ending up in hell if you don't.

Sin has nothing to do with kids! And yes, it is a control mechanism created by man to help control the masses. If god curses you, oooooohhhhhh! If man curses you, BIG DEAL! Kids need to learn what is acceptable to the adults surrounding them! When they act out of the ordinary, they get scolded. The real problem is that most adults forget to praise the kid when they are good or do great things! That' the only time they take credit for what they've created!!!!!! Be nice, not nasty, but don't spoil the kid, by sparing the rod! We've also lost sight of what a good whack on the *** will do to adjust a kids attitude! Time outs are for idiots!

Morality comes from evolution. Children are born amoral (because morality in children would be an evolutionary disadvantage) and they gradually acquire a moral sense as they mature (because then it *is* an evolutionary advantage). Religion cannot and does not explain morality, but evolution does.
Incidentally, children do not 'learn' morality from their parents - many experiments show without a doubt that we all are born with roughly the same kind of moral sense, *regardless* of what we come to believe about specific issues later on.
Example: We all care more about the 'in-group' than the 'out-group'. As adults, some people think animals have rights and some don't, but this doesn't represent a fundamental difference in moral views, it just means that the animal rights enthusiasts include animals in their 'in-group' whereas other people do not.

This is completely caused by various environmental factors:
A kid with no social outings in life won't impart such behaviour as long a the guardian teaches or shows the right manner or conduct of social interaction.
External influence affect a child's mental or cognitive issues.

There is a differance between sin and wrong actions.
Sins are actions that are wrong because a religion says so.
Wrong actions are wrong because they are, in their very nature, wrong.
Homosexuality is a sin according to Christianity, but it is not wrong.
Hurting another person is both a sin and wrong.
Using religion to justify not giving the same rights to everyone is apparently not a sin, but it is wrong.

Because notions of good behavior are things invented by society. Kids are selfish because humans are naturally selfish, we need to be taught how to operate in the society we have created for ourselves.
In nature, it helps if young children of any species are selfish, because it increases their likelihood of survival. It's only when they grow to be adults that it benefits them to help their children and others of their social group. Human society has evolved in a way that emphasizes manners and kindness to others, and children need to be taught that because it's something that doesn't come naturally, especially at a young age.

Kids are not sinful. To imply sinful that means they are "full of sin". They are full of childish logic but not sin. It is the adults that are sinful. We are the ones that corrupt and shape the children. We have to control our "sinful" ways so that we don't encourage people to make mistakes.

Your example does not show a child sinning,it shows a child behaving badly.
Sin is a man-made concept invented to instill fear and exercise control over others

Kids sinful? that's blasphemy, kids are innocent and when they come to this world they know nothing, they don't know good or bad, those things you mention are just the natural instinct of any human to be the leader of his bunch.

Sin is to determine right and wrong. Kids and people need to know right and wrong regardless of faith. Kids are not sin full, they just don't know better yet.
