Research shows: It can take up to six months for a bride to find that special wedding gown, get it ready and fitted. The groom has the option to rent his tuxedo. Are men really concerned about what kind of wedding gown their future brides are going to wear on their wedding day?

I don't really think the guys care what kind of gown their gal has on. All that is important to them (as it should be) is that their bride is coming down the aisle to marry them. You will look radiant and beautiful no matter what you wear to that ceremony.

Personally, spending six months agonizing and getting that "perfect" dress seems a little extreme to me. I have much more important things to do than to over worry about a dress that I am only wearing for a few hours.

My fiance has actually expressed interest when i look at gowns. We went to a bridal expo, and he sat through the fashion show and would lean over with comments. When i read bridal magazines, and i'm flipping through pages - occasionally he'll read over my shoulder and stop me to talk about a dress he likes.

He knows he will not see the dress until we're at the alter, but i know what styles he likes and will do my best to incoperate what he wants into what i want and hopefully find the perfect magical dress.

As for it taking 6months, thats because the manufactuer has to get enough orders for the same dress together to send the order to China where it is mass produced. (Cant make just one or two, its not cost effective - they usually make between 8 and 15 dresses at one time). Than you have to wait for the dress to come back to the states, the manufacturer to put in a box to send to your shop. Your shop to recieve it and make sure there are no imperfections. Than alterations: they take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks (the first, large one being 6 weeks... than 2 weeks for each tweeking).

Not in a traditional wedding when they are wearing a tuxedo, they think that the bride is gorgeous no matter what. My fiance is a little concerned because he doesn't want to look too casual if I am fancy for our beach wedding but that's only because my formality attects his, otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't be concerned at all.

I think He will think you look beautiful in whatever you wear. I dont think your question relates to the Research. Woman take 6 months because they are much picker, it takes six months to get it ready and fitted because the dress is more expensive and delicate then a tux. Not only that the dress is traditional for a woman. We care more about our appearance than men do. Our bodies also tend to fluctuate in weight because of stress to. So it is important that the fitting takes a while to make sure it is perfect and fits to your body. Just sit back and enjoy it!! Get pampered a bit while people crowd around you and dress you up.

No, I don't think so. Men will think their brides are pretty no matter what kind of wedding dress the brides choose. I found my perfect wedding dress at the very second store I went to and didn't have to look any farther and my husband told me I was beautiful in it. I think brides should just get what they think is beautiful--they're husbands will agree.

I think that the men think the bride looks gorgeous regardless. The selection process is so long because the bride is looking for something that SHE loves and that SHE feels gorgeous in.

I dont think my fiance is concerned, as in worried etc, but I know he is interested, just not drooliong at the mouth to know.

After all it's a dress, and he has no idea what micado sheath is or assymetrical beading or a chapel train vrs a cathedral length, etc. He just wants it to be pretty, sexy, and make me feel wonderful.

Once he sees it on me, he will know it was worth all the hassle, but showing him pictures or describing it doesnt mean too much to him and I think it's the same with most guys. He just knows how important it is to me, and thats good enough for me : )

some are, some aren't--just like with everything else. My fiance is very involved with our wedding plans, while I know some men just want to show up, which I think is a shame, personally.

I don't think they care but they would like for you to look beautiful and may even hope for a tear to come out of their eye at the beauty coming to them. But men have it easy so they just want you to say I Do and get to the honeymoon. At least that's what my crazy fiancee said, LOL.

Some men care, some don't. My guy and I looked at pictures of wedding dresses online. I wanted to show him things I like and get his opinion, especially since I really don't like traditional white puffy dresses. (no offense to anyone else!)
I wanted to make sure that while I have something unique that I like, it's in good taste. Besides he has style! :-)
