I owe from a mistake on a tax return a few years ago and send in monthly payments is there a website where I can view this information? It doesn't list on my statement in the mail and I have had a hard time getting someone on the phone or to respond to email from the IRS website. Thanks

Call IRS at 800-829-1040 and request an account transcript. It will show all the debits and credits that have been posted to your account except, maybe, a very recent payment that is still in the processing pipeline.

The IRS won't answer account questions via that email.
At present there is no website availability via the IRS.
There is a lot of competition for the assistors, but if you call early in the morning or late at night (they're open until 10pm), you would have better luck getting through.

Your monthly reminder notice should show you the remaining balance due. Since payments are applied to the tax first, the line for total taxes and penalties will decrease as the payments are applied.

On your monthly reminder notices, there is a caller ID. If you set up a PIN number, you should be able to check if payments have cleared.

You will also get an annual statement showing your progress and you could also order an account transcript.

If you are computer literate and always pay from the same bank account, you can sign up to www.eftps.com and be able to look at your account history.

Yes. Go to Accuverify.com and request an account transcript (6B on the form) using IRS Form 4506-T. You will have the info. in 1-2 business days.

No, no website, but you can call them and ask, although I understand that calling can be a pain. Be sure that you keep copies of your cancelled checks so if there's ever a question, you can prove that you made the payments.
