Jehovah's Witnesses typically refer to a booklet entitled "Examining the Scriptures Daily" for a biblical thought each day. The verse for November 27, 2007 is:

The one showing favor to the poor one is glorifying [his Maker].—Prov. 14:31.

While there are practical ways that a Christian can share material things with those in need, it is undeniable that the more long-term sharing concerns bible truth which can improve one's life for an eternity.

Many people dont know what Gleaning Is...
The law on gleaning did not stipulate how much produce farmers were to leave for the needy. It was up to them whether the borders of unreaped grain around the edges of their fields would be wide or narrow. In this, the arrangement taught generosity. It gave farmers the opportunity to show their appreciation to the Provider of the harvest, since “the one showing favor to the poor one is glorifying [his Maker].” (Proverbs 14:31)

Referring to Achtung answer, this everyday scripture reading; is it like a daily scripture that you will do that deed for today? I got a Christian Biblical Scripture Box that you pull out a scripture card and what scripture you have on that card is what you reflect on and do for your day. Is that the way yours work?
