If the country operates under Sharia law, then it's considered an insult to the prophet and it makes sense to arrest someone for blasphemy.
What would be wrong would be if she is then convicted of blasphemy (when all the evidence points to it being an innocent mistake) and sentenced to some brutal punishment. Why couldn't the police just have asked the Imam to have a friendly word her with explaining what she'd done wrong? I guess that's too civilised for them.
She was insane to want to be in such a country in the first place.

This typical of the muslims and their ludicrous islamic religion.
It was the muslims off spring that wanted to name the teddy bear muhammad...lol. The teacher just let them.
And now she faces whipping or something worse.
The islamic religion is ridiculously stupid and very infedelic.

333 (Level 2) i worked at Unity High School in Khartoum for awhile this year and i met Gillian. she's a lovely, well mannered, respectable woman who wouldnt hurt a fly. i believe it was a naive, simple mistake; with no ill intention whatsover, that was blown out of proportion. my thoughts and prayers and with Gillian and her family back home.
and no, i reckon she doesnt need/deserve any lashing whatsoever. a fine or a warning at most.
