honestly, when I was 17 and a senior, I didn't want to date 10th graders. They were children and I was almost an adult. I had a driver's license, they didn't. There was nothing attractive about them to me. what I'm trying to point out is, at this age, there is a vast difference in 2 years.
By the time you're 20 and she's 22, the chasm in the age gap closes a great deal. By the time you're 25 and she's 27, it has closed to the point that there is no difference in the ages.
Admire from afar, date girls in your own circle and if your path crosses her's in another 6 years, try again.

im 17 and in the 12th grade also, so maybe i can help:
if she already said no, think about why. if age is the problem, theres probably not a lot you can do. however, a lot of girls at my school go for the underclassmen, so just keep talking to her. she also may just be interested in a hookup/fling, because she'll be going to college next year. its hard to see the point in a relationship if we'll be leaving so soon, its just not a good idea to get attached to someone you KNOW you'll break up with in may.

i dont mean to give ur hopes up or anything, but if she turned u down once, she'll do it again...[[from experience]] I say stop flirting with her because she might just be doing it for attention... once she stop getting the attention from u, she will realize what she's missing and maybe even come back to you...but by that time, i reckoned u find another chick and she'll just be all alone...missing what she could've had...

Generally if she said no, then it probably means she doesn't like you like that. Some girls are really flirty and flirt without it meaning anything more.
