me and my boyfriend make about 31,000 each. we are considering getting married, but think it will mess up our tax refund, meaning, we would get less.

also, i'm about 7 months pregnant, so from a financial (no moral) perspective, would it be better to get married and file joint or remain single.

also, i make too much money (i know, sad isnt it) for financial assistance, daycare assistance. so that sucks. i'm breast feeding throughout 12 months, so not in need of formula yet, but will be if my son doesnt take to the teet. please help!

having money to provide for our son is more important to me than being married. when our son is going to school full-time, making it less expensive siince we wont be paying for full-time childcare, we will get married

Being married might or might not make any difference. Some depends on your two incomes. Since they are about the same, it probably won't make much difference. If one of you made a lot more than the other, then you'd probably do better married. If you were both very high income, then it might cost more if you're married.

At around 31K income each, it will come out about the same either way. If you get married, file a joint return.

It is better to get married to get more refunds from IRS. you can claim exemtion for your spouse and child too. As you said both are working you can claim day care expenses as a expendeture, you can get child tax credit.

So, as soon as possible go for married.

You actually get more back when you're married. Thats one of the benefits of being married, the tax break. Plus you add a kid in there and you'll get even more back.

since you each make the same, you'll probably save by filing jointly - lower tax bracket
