stick from 'born' muslims, especially becos converts refuse to acknowledge Islam as it is, but come up with their own version of how it should be, and their own interpretation of, perhaps what they want it to be or mean. Inherently I suppose they want to mix their western lifestyle and blend it in with Islam, all the while forgetting they are breaking Islamic rules in doing so.

Is this correct?

As a revert (not convert we are all born Muslim should you not know that?) i have to say that is rubbish. There is only ONE Islam and that is the Islam i follow. Islam is not to be altered or changed in any way and i follow the rules of my faith and have no "version or interpretation" of my own. As a westerner if i wanted to live the western lifestyle i would i did for 34 years of my life and miss nothing from it. I am not breaking any Islamic rules. Shame you dont know what your talking about putting your Ummah down like that. Allah is all seeing and all knowing and he Insha Allah knows what is in my heart. He is my judge not you. I shall pray for you brother that your knowledge increases, till then i suggest you say nothing else that brings a bad name to Islam and other Muslims.

EDIT
Of course should have guessed it was you Naweed i smelled troll all over this question. Ex muslim LOL yeah sure you are.

I think that as long as you're following religious law you should be able to be whatever culture you're used to. If a convert doesn't accept Islam as it is, then why are they being accepted as a convert? Is there a ceremony they have to go through to convert? I converted to Judaism from nothingism and had to go through a ceremony. You make certain agreements, and if a convert to Islam goes through the same thing and doesn't sincerely agree to follow Islam, then they are an insincere convert and shouldn't be allowed to go through the ceremony. If they change after that, that's one thing. Born Muslims are Muslim no matter what they do, so a convert should be too.

i think if your going to be religious, dont just do it as a hobby.
it should be your life style.

which is why im not fond of christians. they just dont take it seriously.

(how many christians know the original texts? have studied them in their original languages? how many christians have taken the time to really learn the bible instead of just reading a few verses at a time?...)
