Try the Quickie Builders Association, they have materials lists, parts sources and plenty of advice and encouragement.

Judging by one of my friends there's also a reasonable chance of buying someone's half complete kit. He is the second person to spend years on his Velocity (previous owner died) and then give up. I'm sure there are Quickies in hangers all over the place waiting for someone with new enthusiasm and interest. They are an interesting aircraft and I wish you luck.

If you want to build a plane but aren't sure what's involved, I'd suggest doing a web search on "kit plane" or "homebuilt plane" or visiting the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) website. Quite a few folks who build planes take lots of pictures and put them on personal websites or blogs, so that can be instructive.

When I was still an active pilot, the general wisdom I got from folks is that if you want to build a plane so you can have one to fly for less money, DON'T! It takes an enormous commitment and lots of time. Expect it to be your major activity for over a year.

On the other hand, if you want to build a plane because you love building things, go for it!

Good luck.

The manufacturer is now defunct. That means you won't be able to buy a kit anymore. You will have to find a different kit plane manufacturer.

Also, if you have to ask how to build a plane, it is probably way over your head. I built a motorcycle with no instructions and it was pretty hard. I have a mechanical engineering degree and I wouldn't even attempt a plane.
