I been seeing someone at work, who happens to be my assistant. She just got out of a 5 year relationship and is still confused. She recently came back from a trip with the ex and said she wants to see me only. However we went out last week, alcohol was involved and we had a agruement. Since then we are on a break... It is very uncomfortable to be at work and she seems to be wanting me to say something. That pretty much is it so reader, what do I do?

Why is she nuts? It doesnt seem like it...

It just seems like you did the work thing and now you're paying for it.

If you are no longer interested, you should talk to her... no animosity, but a pure explanation of why you shouldnt be together... then you can switch to professional mode and neutralize the situation.

If you ARE interested, then get over yourself and fix it. Ask to talk to her, if she keeps shooting you down, wait a day and ask again. Wait a week, two weeks, whatever.... when you can finally talk to her, wait until after work and explain to her why you want to work it out.

Work relationships are tough, regardless. They are so blissful when they are happening but are worse than anything in the world when they end.

thats why they say not to mess around with people in the work place. I would just let it slide and be friends unless one of you wants to find another job and in the future don't date people you work with and never date someone that works for you.. that is just a sexual harrassment case waiting to happen.

Uh, HELLO! This is one of the reasons not to get involved with a co-worker. And you, as her supervisor, are really treading on thin ice.........you could be sued for harrassment. Run away from this woman, and if possible, get her out of your department.
