"Because the other god's were figments of man's imagination, as is the idea that there is NO God"

If so, can you please provide your proof that the specific god that you believe in is not a figment of your imagination?

Please remember to hold your own god to the same standards that you held all of the other gods when making your claims. If the same method of proof you use to validate your god can be used in a similar manner to validate other gods or NO gods, then all you have no proof of YOUR god.

This is not a question of personal choice. This is a specific question asked to a specific group of people in an attempt to understand how you can invalidate all other gods while not invalidating your own. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Davidm... if you have faith in Freyja, she will reveal herself to you as well. If you have faith in Santa, he will make a personal appearance to not only you, but everyone else that shows up at the mall this Saturday.

You didn't read the details, did you?

I actually believe that all deities are merely each individuals view of the overall divine.

I agree, in theory, with the reasoning behind this question.

They will never admit to themselves that it is just a figment of their imagination. They have invested their whole lives into the delusion and are not willing to escape. There is no way to validate a god. They can't prove he exists. And if you say that you had a personal experience with the FSM they won't believe you but expect you to believe they had a personal experience with their particular god. One also cannot prove there is no go but the burden of proof goes to the one that makes the crazy claims.

Great question as usual and congrats on the Top Contributor.

Actually concept of God is similar in all religious philosophies except new religious realists who term their Prophets as God.

They have different names for God as they have different names for all other things. If in Arabic, they say Allah and in English God and so the names differ but not the concept. Everybody agrees that the God is the creator and every body believes in prayers and help from above.

People who differentiate , do not belong to any religion but to their own vested interests.

No, it's not an accurate description of my beliefs. I believe that all religions lead to the same power; we just call it by different names.

To me, people who believe that there is no God have been too heavily influenced by literal interpretations of the Bible, which I consider to be a poor reference source. I believe the way to faith is to look within. I think everyone has it, including atheists, because they are capable of love.

Because the Christian God wrote the Bible, and everything in the Bible that can be objectively confirmed by independent evidence has been objectively verified. And every prophecy made in the Bible has been fulfilled exactly as it is written in the Bible. And every scientific statement made in the Bible has been confirmed, even though no person living during the time that God wrote the Bible could have known the information contained in it.

Well, as far as what GOD looks like, my mind doesnt have the capacity to imagine what he looks like. I worship THE GOD that causes the sun to rise and set, created all that exist, THE GOD who leads some men on the straight path and who causes some to stray, I worship THE GOD of abraham, issac, moses, jesus, and muhammad(pbut). THE GOD that keeps of account of everything. THE GOD that will judge everyone according to what they have done. ALLAH : )

Faith is a requirement for truth! I have no proof my God does exist
all I have is my faith. Once you have faith he will reveal himshelf "he did to me". We are all created with the knowledge
of God! faith is needed to access that knowledge.

God loves you....God bless

I ate some lettuce and got really sick, and I knew that it was incontrovertible proof that Min, the God of Lettuce, was real and was punishing me for eating the Holy Lettuce

Do you think you'll get an honest answer, they can't do that or else it would ruin their entire construct of reality. Christians aren't that open to new thought, hell they can't even read the text of another belief system lest they might learn something
