In the short time I have been a member or yahoo answers I have noticed a reocurring question.
Why are atheists in R&S ?
I would have thought this forum is open to all. If your opion is there is no God ,or the bible is a not true ,is this not a religious view ?
Surely atheists have something to add.
Would it not be a boring site if we all agreed ?
Would you fellow Christians not agree that many atheists raise interesting points ?

Imagined , I chose this name because my original idea was not to express a view but to question , even if I agree with you , Do not question start the thinking process.
If you wish to ague scripture with me I am ready , & I do not believe I have name call anyone.

Some people don't know the difference between a topic and a group. Their logic (or lack thereof) would imply the users in Cats are cats.

I think your handle "Destructive Criticism" indicates what your true agenda is. Not to add or raise interesting points. As long as you "play nice" I don't mind your presence. If you resort to name calling and scripture distortion I will confront you.
Edit: If I drew a wrong conclusion from your choice of handle then perhaps a less negative handle like "Inquiring Mind" would better convey what you hope to accomplish? And I am not anti-anybody. I do disagree with Christians when they resort to name calling and distorted scripture quotes too. I suppose that makes me an equal opportunity b*i*t*c*h. 8:)

Atheism isn't a religion, it has no creed, no scriptures, no rituals, no places of congregation, no ministers, no gurus and no god.
That doesn't mean that atheists are interested in religion and shouldn't want to discuss it, especially if they have been hurt by it or resent the privileges accorded to it.
Religionists who don't want to engage with atheists can go to one of the many forums that caters exclusively for their particular religion.

There are several atheists on this board that I really enjoy reading (Dark Cheney, Lemur, ooz, to name a few) - the ones that I don't like are the people that just seem to be bored and want to spend some time attacking people.

The title says it all; Religion & Spirituality
However I never cared to much. people like to debate and argue so let them be. I always ignore stuff that I don't like or feel is unproductive. Everyone needs to express them self and reach out. Maybe a few on both sides understand each other a little better...I hope.

Ohh, sure...and also...my thought is too, they must be spiritual, or religious in some way, or, they would not be here in the first place...they must have interests in these things deep in their heart ..questions they have that have no answers...and also must recognize they are too..spiritual in origin...like magnets..they are "drawn" to a place where they hope to find answers..behind their keyboards..in secret..the "reality of God..." so, good luck to all of them in their quest for their search for the one and only true God! "Peace!"

not to mention, many atheists hold spiritual beliefs...
buddhism is a prime example of an atheistic religion...
i'm actually a atheistic/nontheistic pagan... i think all god/desses are symbolic. which means i don't discount any lessons or morals that may come with said god/desses, but i merely do not think that they *actually exist* except in people's minds....

I agree w/ you--I've never asked that question. As I've said before, there are several atheists who hang out here that I respect & consider friends.

Actually I have been told by many Christians that I have given them a reason to do further research because of some of my points and yet there is always one or two wimpy Christians who report me because they feel threatened by my words, its funny

Christians and Muslims follow dominionists creeds, and often think that no-one should ask questions about religion but them.
Not all, some.
