Okay, I've seen many Muslims on here say that the Bible has been "corrupted" and that's why they don't believe it. That's fine...but then why do many Muslim apologetics then attempt to validate Mohammed's prophet status using the Bible? Shouldn't the Qur'an, which Muslims consider to be the one and only word of God/Allah be able to stand alone in this regard?
Please, help me understand. I don't get how a "corrupted" book could possibly validate your religion.

Well, Muslims cannot think independently. They are told about everything... So what a Muslims believes is NOT his or her view point but their religious leader who are their political leaders, too.

Whole world knows the tendency and make of politicians except Muslims!!!

Satan allowed muslims to beleive everything about Jesus except HIS death (and so the ressurection) and HIS deity. This belief and faith is necessary for one's salvation but Satan played the trick and now misguiding nearly 2 billion people on this earth.

Here is another misinterpretation that Mohammad is the Parakletos (Holy Spirit, the Comforter) which actually proves Jesus is the GOD but Muslims will not understand it.

Muslims believes Quran is complete book but they have added hadith right besides Quran to complete it. Unfortunately they will not realise this truth. Muslims added Mohammad in their prayers to Allah (Shahadaa). (La ilahi ill-Allah. Muhammad ur-Rasul-Allah)The first pillar of Islam does not stop at "There is no GOD but the Allah alone" but adds Mohammad along with that staement as "Mohamad is a messenger of God". Why that is added in the praise of Allah? Muslims have no clue...

Here is interesting video which again proves fallacy within Muslim arguments but they will use such arguments again and again... Why??? ...because they dont allow themselves to think !!! I pity for good muslim brothers who are mislead in wrong faith...

May GOD help them to see the light of Jesus, the beacon from heavan !!!

Wow, you opened a can of wigglers that time. The Muslims and the Jews started out as half brothers. Sons of Abraham. Ishmael was sent away with his mother, and my assumption was so that Sarah's son Issac would be the one to get the inheiritance. Ishmael and his mother made it across the wastelands and founded a new nation. Issac founded also a nation, therefore Abraham was as God had said, the Father of Nations. These half brothers fought as have their descendants to this very day. They fight over anything and everything, they need no reason to fight other than the fact they are breathing. Christians, on the other hand believe that Jesus was the son of God, whereas Muslims consider him only a prophet and teacher who taught Mohammed when he ventured to Israel. The Jews, on the other hand did not consider him even a teacher, but a criminal who was trying to destroy their beliefs. Three groups, three views. The cur'an has remained unchanged since the 14th century, but that doesn't say what happened the other 1300 years after Christ died. Of course, my source might be wrong also, because there are few documents that have survived intact without being copied and run the risk of a mistake. It's like the story of the monk who decided to look at the original scrolls that had been copied hundreds of times over the century, and said loudly... The Word has a R in it... someone missed an R in the original copy... The word is NOT Celebate, it's CELEBRATE!! Not to make light of a serious subject, but that type thing could happen, they didn't have copy machines back then. I said my piece, I'll hush. Peace to all religions, and praise be to whichever God you worship, for as far as I can tell, he's the same one for us all.

The Qu'ran does not teach the Bible is corrupt but actually the Allah of the Qu'ran claims to be the God of Abraham.
The Qu'ran teaches that it is a word from God and is in agreement with the Bible.

O ye People of the Book! Believe in what We have (now) revealed, confirming what was (already) with you....." Surah 4:47 (See also Surahs 2:40,41; 2:91; 20:133; 26:192-198; 29:47 & 46:10-12.)

The Qu'ran claims that it confirms the Bible.

The dilema of Muslims it that their book and their Allah are not in agreement with the true God of Abraham that Allah claims to be.

This is the reason that Muslims not the Qu'ran must believe that God could not keep his word.

The name Ahmad is mentioned in the Aramaic Bible but was lost in the Greek and Hebrew translations. The Song of Solomon talks about Muhammad(PBUH*). Aramaic was the language of Jesus(PBUH*) and his followers. The reason Muslims say the Torah and Bible are corrupted is because they were altered by mankind and there are entire books and verses that are not in the modern day Bibles because the Catholics when they wrote the Bible they threw out anything that went against their male dominated Christian Crusade ideals so there are many books that were in the original Aramaic bible that are now burned or lost forever. There are over 2,000 different versions of the Bible and Torah and every single one of them contradicts each other so that if you read them all you won't know what to believe. So ALLAH(Subhanna wa ta'ala) sent the Qur'an down to Muhammad(PBUH*) and is protecting it for all eternity from being altered or corrupted by mankind. Many people have tried to change the Qur'an or produce a sura like those in the Qur'an and have failed. The Qur'an is stil the same from over 1450 years ago.

Do you really want to understand or are you just being argumentative? Your tone sound harsh.

Anyway. Those who believe the Qur'an also believe the Torah and the Gospels.

The Bible is one big collection of Hadits, one can choose to believe one Hadits over another. One can ask scholars (ahli kitabs) to know more about other things not mentioned in the Qur'an. However the final authority is still the Qur'an.

As for using the Bible to see if Muhammad is mentioned.

Well, is it wrong to see if a person you know is mentioned in a few chapters you believe on, even if you don't believe the whole chapters?

I mean that Jesus was mentioned in the Qur'an, but that doesn't made him as incorrect by those who reject the Qur'an but follow him.

As for Muslim apologists.

First of all, calling them or anyone else as apologists and so on would only fuel the flame of hatred, even if they are wrong.

Second of all, it's possible they are not muslims.

Third of all, if they said A is wrong but the same time said A is true, then pay no attention to them till they start saying the truth.

Not everything is the Bible was changed...
The common grounds of being a good person are still sought by the Bible...
So Muslims don't think that the Bible is not valid, they think that there have been changes in some parts of it.

This however is not the reason why Muslims choose to be Muslims and not Christians.
Muslims believe that God sent several religions, each one adds to the previous ones... Christianity was one... and Islam is one that came after Christianity... so Islam completed all the religions, it's the final words sent to humans by God (Allah).
Each religion told its people to expect a new one in future... but Islam said that this is the final words....

I hope I made it clear, I did my best :)

As Muslims we don't say that there's only one book the Quran we believe that the Bible and also the Torah were revealed by God but that they are corrupted books and that doesn't mean that there's no truth in them, but the Quran is proved even by objective scientists to be an authentic divine book preserved in exactly the same form for 14 century. So as Muslim we believe in every word and letter in it with no doubt, so knowing also that the Bible and Torah are from the same ONE and ONLY existing God that's normal that three books have a lot in common but our source is Quran, any fact in the Bible or Torah is only true or authentic if the Quran says exactly the same and if Quran says otherwise we know for sure that there has been corruption. In simple words Quran is the revision source for all other books.

I haven't heard that yet. Doesn't mean I won't. I do know I have questioned our bible because of the many translations. That is why I want to read the Quran. I already read a few things and it does seem to show some of those scientific facts that the Muslim's say are there. Some seem a little far fetched and some do not.

Good question -- I always ask them that when they quote the Bible saying that it talks about Mohammed, which is totally made up (except when the bible talks about a false prophet).

It is dishonest and manipulative to say that parts of the Bible are corrupt and some aren't. It either stands as the Word of God, or it doesn't. They can't have it both ways and hi-jack it for their own purposes.

In the Name of Allah, Most Compassioante Ever Merciful

An very very very good question.

I aggree with you that "Bible has been corrupted".
I can prove it if you want just email me.

Now to the question, Not the whole of the Bible has been corrupted. Part of it is corrupted but it has happend to such a extent that we cant differentiate. Those part which match with Quran MAY be not corrupted. So we use it.

Else we can prove it alone from Quran, but the thing is that Christians will not accept it so we use the Bible. But the cheif source of valid proving is the Quran only.

Plz read my profile for a suggestion
