If you commit a murder while committing another felony you become ELIGIBLE to receive the death penalty in Florida (and many other states) under the felony murder rule. Whether or not you actually GET the death penalty will be up to a judge and jury to decide.

likely yes.
The argument is that you took a gun with you while commiting a felony. That you took it shows advance planning.
Ergo, murder one and a one way trip to death row at Raiford Prison.

The Theory of Criminal Responsibility – i.e. when under our criminal law, a person can be found guilty (in cases such as wilful homicide, rapeetc.)
Two factors are necessary:
MATERIAL ACT of the offence e.g. killing in a case of wilful homicide
AND
INTENT (MENS REA).
To form the intent required by law an individual must have the capacities to:
WILL / VOLITION
AND
UNDERSTAND / MENTAL (A conscience that you know what you are doing and what you are doing is wrong).
