then make the claim that everything he does is perfect? if you can't understand everything he does, then you're certainly incapable of distinguishing right from wrong whenever he does one or the other. all you really have to go by is "his word". it's a rather arbitrary assumption if you ask me, based on nothing more than your own belief that he's always right. isn't it possible that he's sometimes wrong? to put it another way, if he did something wrong, would you be able to understand that he did, would you be able to accept it?

primoa, that's what i'm saying. so you're admitting that it's impossible to know whether or not he's done something wrong.

bibliophile, no it would go against your understanding of his nature. the christian argument is we cannot understand god.

l.c., we have an account written by people who tended to believe a lot more in the superstitious than we do today. that's all we have. it was written by men, and men are fallible.

oregon flower, i never claimed to. christians seem to be the one making the claim that they understand god, not me. i'm merely suggesting that it's possible that if a god does exists it is possible that he or she could be wrong from time to time.

You find it hard to understand why people make the assertion you are referring to because you and all of us cannot understand God. He is too much for anyone to understand. But when he goes wrong, he admits it. When the humans he created became rebellious as a result of satanic influence on them, God said that he regretted creating the humans. Genesis 6. Then he used the flood to destroy them. He alone knows all things.

You question is so absurd. No, we can't completely understand God because we don't have the capacity to, but we do have the Word of God that describes His Character in part. And one part is clear, God is perfect.
Christians are Christians by faith, why don't you understand this?

His ways are higher than ours, His wisdom greater than ours. If it wasn't that way, He wouldn't be God. If He made mistakes, He wouldn't be God. I personally wouldn't want to serve an all powerful being that could make mistakes. And anyway, I think that the saying "He who has the power gets to make the rules." can apply here. That, by default makes Him right.

This is a convoluted logic. But convoluted or not, your arguments fall far short of understanding God. When you learn about God, then speak up. But if you know nothing about God, do you know what you're talking about?

Do you really think you can fully understand God? He SPOKE the universe into existence, yet you think your tiny mind can understand Him?!
And please, don't worry about Him doing "something wrong," dear one. God is perfect and NEVER makes a mistake or error.
God bless!

Because in many instances it is when you corner a Christian with difficult questions that they pull this card out and say "well we cannot know God's ways" its like a get out of jail free card

Because God is perfect.
He CAN'T make mistakes-it would go against His very nature!

Because it's true.
God is God.....and we are not.
If we knew Him completely.....then that would make us equal to Him
