That's exactly why i want to see it and now i want to read the book. Its funny they raise a stink so people wont see the movie or read the book but in all actuality they make more people want to do both.

I know I won't have anything to do with it! I have to work to earn my money and why should I give it to some overstuffed writer who mocks and hates what I hold to be best? I checked it out and you can even go to the web page and pick out your own demon... now that is just plain twisted now not only is he bashing Christianity he is promotting people picking demons!

Just look at the writer of Harry Potter I have seen her in a couple interviews and she quickly stopped doing them it seems because even in a scripted interview she comes off like she is a a nasty and rather petty and very arogant person. There was a writer a couple of years ago that wrote a few stories about a girl witch in Russia and she spent millions sueing the writer until all the books were pulled. She is incredibly wealthy and if you look all she is doing with it is trying to make herself more wealthy, no empathy or care for anyone but herself!

Philip Pullman if anything is even more hateful and arrogant. Here are some quotes from this guy I pulled of one of the movie pages discussin his movie.

" But if there is a God, and he is as the Christians describe him, then he deserves to be put down and rebelled against. " —Philip Pullman, author of the fantasy series His Dark Materials

QUOTE: "'My books are about killing God.' So said Philip Pullman, author of The Golden Compass,

I'll put the price of the movie tickets in the first Salvation Army bell ringer's cup I see or send some to Compassion or World Vision! If I want to spend that money why should I help make a guy like that rich rather than help someone?

Marc,
If I see it, it would be after the fanfare is over and not for that reason. I will see it as I do other movies on TV in a couple of years. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

PS... "Some Fundies" should not matter. What is important is that the Flock is Fed and cared for by the MASTER!

EDIT:
I may not want to even see it then. Check out this site if you want to read more about the Book, Movie, and Author

If that makes you feel better, knock yourself out. Do you realize the power you are giving to "fundies" by reacting against them. I find that rather amusing. Do you think any of them will actually care what YOU do!

ME ME ME!!!

But also because it looks like a kick *** movie! Even before I started getting these FWD emails about it being an awful movie and how it promotes atheism to children in the disguises of a family holiday movie... I thought it looked like a great movie. It reminded me of something similar to Stardust and Narnia and both of those were good movies in my opinion.

The more the bible thumpers thump away against it, the more it makes me want to see it, just to find out what has their perverbial panties in a wad. I fail to understand why it is acceptable for a movie like The Chronicles of Narnia to be alright for me to see because it has Christian overtones and it came out as a holiday movie... but the moment a movie comes out with an alternate view, it's EVIL and must be banned, boycotted or burned! So it's ok to teach children the Christianity, but it's no ok, to show them another perspective. To me, that's very biased, myopic and hypocritical. I don't recall thousands of atheists sending out mass forwards warning parents of atheist children that The Chronicles of Narnia was a religious movie and not to take your children to see it.

I had no idea it was a bone on contention for some. Figures. Someone has to spoil things for people. Oh well. I will rent it when it comes out on DVD because it looks good. I don't care what others think.

Personally, I want to see it because it looks like an interesting movie. Hopefully it will not be a let-down.

I don't care if i am making someone upset because I am watching it. They can just go to their corner and cry for all I care.

I know I will and I am even bringing my son who is 5 years old. I want to make sure the movie gets big ratings that way the Christians will say "aw shucks Satan did this"

I think that this is just a plot to gain publicity for the movie.
