Yes, because they represent credit available to you so they hurt your chances of obtaining further credit. The logic is, you could be the most responsible person in the world (and thus merited all those cards) but if you take up cocaine or something all that plastic could be run up quickly.

yes because even though they may have zero or small balances you have the potential of larger amounts of debt
