I want to decorate my windows with lights for Christmas as part of a contest but I'm having a holiday party and I dont want the place to look tacky...is there a way to light up the windows that will look nice? Any ideas on how to do this?

you can by the net lights which usually you throw over bushes, but I think it comes in rectangles or squares and the lights are formed in a nice diamond shape or checkered shape. I think that would look cool and certainly light up your window. then you could put a wreath in the middle or garland around the out line.

You can make it look nice with lights or wreaths or candle type decorations. The key is not to overcrowd the window. This is what makes it look tacky. You merely want to "accent" the window(s).

You could just string lights around the windows with a wreath in the center.

Or, you could just put those 3 candle holders up with red or green bulbs, you could even use clear bulbs, with a nice wreath in the center.
