There are changes that are necessary for the body to have a baby inside and then come out. But these changes happen to every woman, and is not a reason to stay childless. It never goes back to the way it was, because over time and another baby or two, the pelvic area is spread (for birthing). If you notice most women have larger hips; when young it doesn't show as much, but as a woman gets older, the body tends to hold the fat there.
It also depends on the genes passed down. I look like my mom, wide hips and all, and my brother is thin like my dad. No big deal, it is all in how you handle yourself in life, not how you look.
Exercise helps, but that helps even if you don't have a baby. Staying healthy means that later in life you will age well. Eat right before conceiving, keeping that habit into your old age. Exercise by walking and whatever else you like to do to keep moving (running after children is also a good exercise). Think long term, not just the months after having a baby.
And if it were so terrible, no celebirty would have a child. Yes, they work out 4-6 hours a day to get back into shape, but they also make a lot more money than you do, have nannies who care for the baby, and stylists to make them look adorable. Not to mention retouchings in magazines and the media.
Is it worth it? Yes, just think healthy, not "Oh, dear, I have to work out again" or "this darn baby made me fat." Enjoy the whole experience and continue your healthy ways.
Good luck.

I just got LUCKY!!! I was 100 pounds when I got pregnant and 150 the day I had my son. A week later I was back to normal weight without one stretch mark on my body. Sounds crazy, right? My doctor could not believe it either. My mom and grandma were the same way. I got very blessed. I always get the comment"I can't believe you had this big baby" (My son is two) But there are a lot of exercise programs and diets that are good for you after you give birth and even some exercises to do during pregnancy.

Before I had my daughter, I was a slender girl, and was a dancer for quite some time. The biggest change in my body wasn't necessarily my weight, since I got back to within five pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight, but the changes in my skin. I got stretch marks really bad. It was biggest fear and it came true. I tried everything--drinking gallons of water a day, eating healthy, excercising, creams, oils, lotions--nothing worked. I had to throw away lots of clothes (I didnt' realize how many shirts showed a tiny sliver of belly until I couldn't show it off anymore, which is just as well, mommies have no business wearing that stuff anyway).
I still can't wear a bikini, and probably never will, but I've gotten used to it, and it's really not that big of a change, now that I think of it. But I keep myself eating well, with a little cheat here and there, and try to excercise once or twice a week. I'm not a health nut, but I try to maintain myself. I'm now pregnant 35 weeks with my second and hoping to bounce back as well this time around!

Well for me personally no. I was 115 lbs before and returned to my regular size. My hips are alittle wider, and breasts are alittle bigger, but that was a good thing for me!!! But as long as you stay active, exercise, and eat right, youll be fine. I never did get stretch marks. I acyually like my body better now, before I didnt have much of a shape, now I do. It definately takes time tough. My son is 5 months and just recently got back to my size. But stay active, exercise, drink alot of water, eat right and you'll go back.

Eat right,or try to and do exercise while your pregnant so you can stay healthy. You can come pretty darn close to going back to your figure but in some women they get a wider hip spread that doesn't always go back to normal.Use tons of coca butter but that doesn't always help if your having a big baby.Soak in green tea it's relaxing and it wakes and tightens your skin up,don't drink excessive amounts of coffee either.

Your body is a little different at first after having a baby, but no reason for it not to go back to the way it was if you exercise and take care of yourself. Having children is no excuse for a woman to become overweight....I've had two kids and still fit into the same size clothes I wore prior to having kids.

exersize.. be active and healthy while pregnant..
i know plenty of women who look almost exactly the same as they did before they had their baby right after birth..
and then some women can gain a ton of weight.. like 100 pounds..
i really think its how you care for yourself and how you care for your baby while your pregnant..
just be healthy!
