Sarch_uk is real. The Au Pair visa led to November 2008 because of the boom of the ecu and the thousands and thousands of young ones from jap Europe coming to the united kingdom as au pairs who do no longer require a visa. and since the U. S. refuses to do a reciprocal young little ones Mobility Scheme with the united kingdom, then American young ones won't be ready to come to artwork interior the united kingdom for a three hundred and sixty 5 days or 2. The permission gained by employing a enterprise would not shop on with to au pair jobs or different unskilled or semi-experienced positions. That basically applies to rather experienced jobs. No enterprise could be waiting to instruct that they marketed the situation for minimum 4 weeks and not one ecu citizen utilized till that's a activity that has very particular academic standards or some years of appropriate journey. those variety of jobs are specially technological know-how and engineering positions there is not any way an American can artwork as an au pair interior the united kingdom. And be careful whilst looking on line. do no longer do it. no longer basically are there Nigerian scammers posing as British families offering private placement who gets you to deliver money for "visa processing" the place you will finally end up dropping some thousand pounds. yet there's a far greater sinister side. the standard public of ladies who're trafficked into the intercourse commerce have been lured to varied ecu international places with the fake promise of a nanny/au pair or eating place/pub/nightclub interest. The BBC did an entire week approximately this problem some months back. There ought to nonetheless be some international places in Europe offering au pair visas yet this might basically be accomplished through an enterprise. you could't locate employment right now with a kin - you ought to be regsitered with an authorized enterprise which will habit an entire history verify on the two you and any potential kin

There is an agreement between a number of countries that allows au-pairs to enter the UK (work) permit free. Most of these countries are now members of the EU or EEA and have treaty rights of free movement and so do not need a visa. Turkish citizens benefit in that they are allowed to be au-pairs but will need a visa as an au-pair. The USA did not enter that agreement and so you do not benefit from it. It is simple as that.

Just in case you are taken in by any website offers - legally you cannot be an au pair with or without a visa - you MUST have a work permit if you want to work as a nanny. If you can find someone who will take the time and make the effort good luck, however to get a work permit you must be able to show that you have some qualifications to allow you to do the job.

Would think you needed a work visa for such. Perhaps they have more than enough Au pairs already there.

i think that former British Empire countries and (now) European Union countries have priority for those jobs in UK that are available to foreigners.

We Yanks exited the British Empire rather forcefully, not by having our independence granted to us by Britain because they'd become tired of running our affairs.

Because they need a work permit. All foreigners need a work permit to work in the US and all non-EU people need a work permit to work in the EU.

Its not rocket science.
