...Tony Stewart is one person who speaks his mind and doesn't hold back. Agreed?

...If there is any problems with Toyota's COT in the 2008 season do you think he will speak out against the Toyota manufacturer?

...If so will it have an effect on his future with Joe Gibbs Racing?

...I just want to explore other people's opinions to add to my own. No right or wrong answer. Just your input.

...Let me clarify a little. When I ask about effect on his future it could mean his decision, Joe's decision, or Totota's decision to make a change on future relations.

I agree that Tony speaks his mind!
If he speaks out against the COT next season it will be directed at Nascar. As I understand it the COT is the great leveler, the body is exactly the same no matter the make. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota all the same except the decals. Even fewer adjustments that can be made by the crew, as compared to the old car.
Here's where it gets a little touchier, will he speak out against Toyota or JGR's engine department if he lacks power or reliability? If he has a bad season in this new car I think he will speak out and not care about the consequences! At the same time he'll be making plans to move elsewhere, maybe even out of Nascar.
Tony is a pure racer and I don't think he is happy with the way Nascar is being ran now! If money is his motivation then he'll not say to much and go with the flow. But I'd like to think that is not the case!!!
Just my thoughts!!

That little governor that most people have between their brain and their mouth is something that God left out when he made Tony Stewart. That's good (the sport needs a no B.S. guy) and bad (sometimes Tony has a rather jaundiced view of the world and his place in it).
I think all parties involved at JGR and Toyota were well aware of the ramifications of a bad 2008 before they signed the papers. Knowing this, i think both JGR and Toyota are throwing every resource at a successful start to their relationship.
I know the Toyota haters would love nothing more than to watch Smoke go storming off to RCR in 2009.
Like the old saying goes....."You can wish in one hand and......." you know the rest.
I think Toyota has a little something for NASCAR Nation in 2008.

I don't foresee any problems with Toyota's Cup cars in '08. Several races in '07 saw Toyota run very well and show some horsepower under the hood. Any problems Stewart might encounter will be dealt with on his team, not with Toyota. I think if Stewart isn't happy, once his contract is up, he'll make a move. That could be real interesting especially since Chevrolet is real unhappy about losing him. The question could be who might Stewart drive for in 2009? Hey, I know, let's have Stewart go to Hendricks so they can win every race in '09.

Yes,Tony Stewart is one person who speaks his mind and doesn't hold back, and if there is a problem with the Toyota next season, you can bet he will be talking about it.
I do not believe that it would have any effect on his future with Gibbs Racing.
He is a very talented driver with a great attitude.
You have to remember this, Toyota is running more horsepower than anyone else. This translates to Tony winning and winning.

Personnaly I am a fan of Tony Stewarts, and one of his traits that I liked is his vocal style. To me he has the attitude of the drivers from the 60's and will stste his point right or wrong.
If he has a problem he will voice his opinion and will let Toyota know what needs changing.
As far as his time with JGR he is in his option year of his contract.
So I think he will give Joe Gibbs Racing a good show next year.

This is a big issue with me - Tony in a Toy. I tell you one thing, if he gets pissed off enough he'll speak his mind about anything. Im sure Gibbs will try to contain Tony as much as possible but that type of stuff just turns a driver into a robot like Gordon or Johnson. And i really dont think Tony will put up with too much of that - someone trying to silence him. And yes if Gibbs intends on staying with the Toy cars for an extended time period then their relationship will be strained for sure. I pretty much see it as, this next season either goes really damn good or Tony is going back to Chevy's.

On the other hand, Gibbs has let Tony get away with murder pretty much so who knows.

Agree Tony does speak his mind ( I like that about him). No Tony won't speak out against Toyota, not until he's ready to leave. He's not stupid, he may sorta but not directly. His future with Gibbs: Gibbs knows Tony better than any of us do, so it won't be any different. It may take Gibbs a while to get things clicking but Tony will get some wins. Tony has the ability to get everything possible out of any car. Besides all that he is cute...

I do not think he will complain about the Toyota logo on the car. The simple fact for that is with the COT it's just a "LOGO" The cars are all identical. In the engine department the Toyota's are producing about 50 more horsepower than Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. The only thing that can hurt them is set up. We all know that Tony will give his team a piece of his mind when performing bad.

Yep, Tony's never needed stitches in his tongue because of biting it too hard. First off, we will see if indeed he ends up driving a Toyota next season. I know he has said he is going to honor his contract at JGR but if he doesn't sign any contract extensions in the near future you have to believe he's at least looking at the option of staying with or going back to the bowtie after next year, say at RCR. He definitely will let you know what he thinks of the cars, sort of like Shrub slamming the COT right after winning the first race in one at Bristol. Right now Toyota needs credibility and a talent like Tony Stewart much more than Smoke needs Toyota.

I don't think he'll have anything to really gripe about as far as Toyota is concerned. There will be a learning curve, but I can guarantee that Toyota will be providing top notch stuff to JGR.....along with a lot of cash. It'll be up to JGR to figure out how to make it work. It's been done in both the CTS and Busch series, so I can't imagine Toyota not being able to produce equipment that can compete at the Cup level. The burden will be on JGR to make it work.
