You say you believe in evolution- do you also believe in the Big Bang? The Big Bang accepts that matter always existed, but in a different form. Creationism accepts that God always existed too. Here is a link to a question I posted yesterday which is similar to this one.

You, an evolutionist, are asking who made the single cell? If you believe in evolution, then you must believe that a cell can arise without anything creating it. The same answer would apply to your question about the single cell of God, assuming that one accepts that God was once a single cell, or made of cells at all, and not a pre-existing, non-human being.

God is the Sole Creator of the whole Universe & everything therein (including the myriads of galaxies, suns, stars, etc). God is Omnipotent, without any begining and an end. All other beings are merely God's creations and therefore will submit to God's will, whether they are the angels, the devils/satans, humans, animals, plants, etc. All living creatures must die at one time or another, to eventually submit to their Creator.
The signs of the existence of God is everywhere around us in the form of all that we loosely refer to as nature - the plants & animals, life & death, day & night, rain & shine, the land & the oceans, earth tremors/quakes, volcanoes, the floods, the waves in the oceans, the food we consume, the workings of our anatomy, etc, etc. are all subject to God's Will. No other physical beings (that can been seen either by the naked eyes or powerful microscopes) can change what Good has willed, not even science. If someone has to die, he/she will die, no one can postpone or delay the timing of death even for a fraction of a second.
And...Mankind can invent things only when God Willing! Therefore, mankind has existed since the time of Adam (pbuh) at the pleasure of God, and our tenure in this physical world too shall be at the pleasure of God. We cannot change our destiny without God's Will! In the final analysis there is God, the Sole Creator of ALL beings, whether you believe or not!!!

Aye, there's a real conundrum.
If theists claim the universe MUST have been created by god, doesn't that imply someone created the creator?
In answer to someone who said Jesus always existed, how come he is never mentioned in the OT? Seems like such an important fellow would be worth mentioning in Genesis.
Matter has always existed. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp?

First, God is a spirit, and has no need of cells. God was not made. He always existed. It is impossible for man to explain God in human terms. The attempt to describe the divine by physical characteristics always fails.

Could we evolve to a point where we could create God?
If so, would he/she/it possess the power to transcend time, and space, and create the universe in which we exist, and everything within it?
If so, we should imagine a great God, and not a mediocre or evil one.

In the beginning there was either a self-creating God or a self-creating Big Bang. Which are you more comfortable with?

God is spirit. God is eternal. God always exists. That is why God revealed himself to Moses as, " I am."
