I never thought ministers were supposed to "control" anyone.

Biblically speaking, it's not the job of the minister to control the flock. That's the job of the Elders. They are also called overseers, bishops, pastors, and shepherds. But they can't 'control' the flock either. If someone is living in sin, they have a responsibility to help them (so do all Christians) but they can't force anyone to act a certain way. As a matter of fact, forced obedience is no better than disobedience. Elders must pray and be open the the Holy Spirit. They must guide the congregation in the direction the Spirit provides. The congregation must follow. As a shepherd leads the flock, so must the Elders lead the congregation in the way of the Lord.

They are commanded by God to be strong leaders of their flocks, not weak. If they can't control the flock. They're not doing their job and should be fired! These days they teach nor display no code of conduct, which is the whole problem.

Ministers are to "minister" to their flock, not control them. A Minister is a servant, not the master. Now, I know that many minister do try to control but that is not biblically what they are supposed to be doing. As far as a code of conduct, that is laid down in the Bible very precisely.

They teach that we should all become like Jesus. Some just can't do it, and that is understandable.
I can't believe that any minister should lose his job, because someone in the church errs.
What is the job of the minister?
And He himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head -- Christ --

It's not a minister's job to "control" his flock, for one thing.
Various churches have processes for dealing with misconduct of people in their congregations. This can be different from denomination to denomination or church to church.

It depends on the minister. I've been some churches that are alive and life change is happening -- people are living out their faith, helping their neighbors, giving to & mentoring the poor, and being a good example of Christ wherever they go.
Unfortunately, most churches I go to are dead. People only go to church because that is what their parents did. They are "Christian" in name only, not because of life change or being a reflection of Jesus.

NOT AT ALL!!! I think they are rather strong to have to obey by all the rules, while some of the church doesn't. They are going to be controlled, only if they want to be controlled.

Many ministers are to busy giving that feel good sermon rather than preaching what God wants them to preach. If you get into a good Bible believing church you wont have that problem. Peace out.................
