What are some of the simpler felonies and should we change more misdemeanors to felonies ?

Felonies aren't simple. Felonies include: Murder, Arson, Rape.
Maybe we could change DUI into a felony? a lot of them seem to end up with that. just add one day to the maximum jail sentence.
Better plan, add DUI to the list of reporting offenses.

They should just change the booking proceedures so that anytime someone indicates they were born someplace other than the US, that name is sent (with the booking information) to Immigration. This is all done electronicly anyway, that seems like a simple solution. Some will be US citizens and some will be legal residents, but Immigration can sort that out.

The ONLY law we need is one that makes entering the US illegally a deportable offense. OH WAIT! We already have that one, we just need to enforce it.
Another law that would help the situation is one that would put anyone aiding illegal aliens into prison for a long time.

I think illegals should be reported for committing any offense that is against our laws, considering they committed an illegal act by entering our country. And then, they should be deported, with all possible assets acquired confiscated.

Riverside NJ also found out that getting rid of illegal immigrants proved more economic loss than gain.
