Jesus said to his disciples, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
God-given peace comes with a cleansed conscience, which only comes when we repent and ask God to forgive us. May you know His peace (John ch 14:25-27).

Oh it can be difficult as I still want a bottle of xanax.
Anyway I think understanding ourself and keep searching what makes us happy as when we are not happy we are tense, depressed etc. Keeping looking, in Jewish philosophy there is a bit I have touched on about finding your thing and feel it holds very true. Poke about all over the place and you will get bits and pieces here and there what you love and it wil lead you to what you need.
Also from a non philosophical stand point I try to get as much brain exercise as physical exercise and being around people that I can love. That is a big one!
Always envision what made you happy and content and picture these things all the time and make a mental routine to go after those things and picture how you will do it. This works so good!

Linz,
I have been at peace for quite some time. As a Christian it is very easy to place all of my worries upon GOD. I imagine that you should be able to find peace by finding a quiet place and using a form of self hypnosis. I did that several years ago when the pain from my Diabetic Neuropathy was so severe that I could no longer stand it. It would allow you to enter a meditative state and calm yourself down from any anger or frustration that you might have. I hope that you are able to find an answer. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

You're going to have to look at what is making you anxious. Now doesn't that sound like a fun thing to do. That should put you right into an anxiety attack. It's never easy to take a look at ourselves.
Seems like anxiety can hit you like a rock, right out of no where. Still can't figure that one out. However, in all reality I know there's something stuffed somewhere in my head that's knocking to come out.
Maybe we try too hard to please everyone but ourselves. It's easy to forget who should really come first in our lives. We are the ones that need to put ourselves #1 on the list. If we can't to happy, how can we make other people happy.
This is the most important thing we have to remember. Get selfish and take care of our selves. Then maybe the rest will come easier. Can't allow other people to mess with our heads. We take care of ourselves, "they" take care of themselves. Maybe then the "peace" we're looking for will finally come. A good soak in a hot tub would help too. Now that's acceptable to me. That's a life style I could easily accept. Should do more relaxing in a hot tub.
You'll find your peace. Just have to get rid of all the garbage we haul around. I'm working on this and slowly, step by step I feel changes. Still have long way to go, but am determined to come out the winner.
I'm right there by your side taking it one step at a time. You're not alone. You have me and 50 billion other people right along side of you.
I know it's easier said then done. Remember, get selfish and take care of #1 first.

transcendental meditation! chose a peaceful word and repeat it in your mind for 20 minutes. chose a quiet place. turn off the phones, sit up straight, don't rest your head (just hold it up so you don't fall asleep) and say this word slowly, over and over in your mind. best to use the name of God or some word that means peace. we use the name Ya-Raheem, which means O Merciful One.
Do this daily and at a fixed time. this form of meditation (using the name Ya Raheem) will go into your subconscious mind and deal with suppressed painful memories, anxieties and problems that the conscious mind can not deal with.
In Islam this is called Ziker (or spelled Dziker)... peace

Peace is the effect of mental state of equilibrium. Mind generates thoughts to your liking. Anxiety comes generally out of fear / uncertain future and in which no one has a control. The more you think , the more it will go deep in your mind and create more anxieties. Instead of thinking what will happen "IF ....", Better start thinking what to do "if" it happens and If you can find a solution -fine-wait for the result .If not ,then practice not to think or to ignore the thoughts. .

Prayer and meditation.
I take deep breaths when I feel the anxiety welling up inside.
Taking a half-hour brisk walk is good.
Cutting caffeine helps a little.
I pray the Rosary, your mileage may vary.
My mantra: "Don't sweat the small stuff. It's ALL small stuff."

Step outside, close your eyes and breathe deeply. Focus on picking up only the sounds of nature (birds, wind, trees, etc.) and focus on the air...feel it, let it blow your hair, breathe it...eventually imagine you ARE the air. Let the air take whatever is stressing you at the moment with it. I find that when the pressure of life gets tough for me, reverting back to nature always relaxes me.

To the tone of the song...I say a little prayer for you~forever, forever...and so on and so forth! Lol!
I like to be alone sometimes. It allows me to reflect and sort things out for myself instead of depending on others. I think you can gain peace and a bit of wisdom that way as well. Knowing that you an make it on my own is my peace.
