This is a marvelous question! This opens the possiblities to many things, that truthfully, I would not have thought of. While I originally thought it would be a great idea, after considering what others have said, it would be an invasion of privacy in later years. I was part of the original search party for Adam Walsh in Hollywood, FL. Up until that time, there was not even an alert for a missing child, but there was one for a stolen vehicle. We have learned much as a nation, John Walsh's efforts have brought around the necessary changes. What a pity, our most valuable asset, our children are at risk.
As much as we would like to think that a parent would never harm their child, it is too often the case, what a pity that these people would not seek out help for their anger issues or have resouces in the community to drop off children when parents needed a break.
Thank you for your question

This sounds like a bad idea. Think of it this way . . . if you can monitor them using technology that you don't understand, then so can other people. A simple virus, and the very people you don't want to track them would be led to right where they are. And when do you remove this? Does the government use it after they are adults to track citizens?

I don't think it would be because 1) if someone is going to hurt your child, chances are they would do it before you could get to them, 2) if the chip was placed right under the skin in the same place on everyone, it could just be cut out and discarded. If someone was going to hurt your child, they wouldn't have a problem cutting the chip out. I understand it for elderly people that are wandering off on their own, but not really for kids.

omg thats horrible! i didnt even know they put those in people! i mean, its bad enough they do it to pets, but now to people?? so basically that child would be able to be tracked with this chip for the rest of his or her life... isnt that kinda an invasion of privacy? "parents" should be a little more aware of where thier children are and they wouldnt have to implant a device in them to keep up with them for them!

No. I am old fashioned. I believe it would give the government a free tool that you have to trust their honesty
to not use. As I said. I am old fashioned. Why not watch them?

I'm a little older and although I don't agree that we should do it to kids I think we should do it to us old people that have mental problems and may wonder away from home! Heck, I'm going to talk to my vet. Or get a tattoo when I go to the "home".

You could tattoo your name and address on their forehead - that would not prevent someone with ill intent from harming your kids.
