half the women and a third of the men do not show any symptoms.

In men, the primary symptom is painful urination. Levels of pain can often be extremely severe. Discharge is also seen from the urethra (the tube through which urine passes from the body). At first, this discharge is slimy and of limited quantity but it quickly develops into a more substantial yellowish substance.

Homosexual men can develop gonorrhoea in the rectum. This varies from being symptom-free to involving the painful discharge of bloody pus from the rectum.

In women, the symptoms tend to be more limited, normally consisting of painful urination and an increasing amount of discharge from the vagina.

In both sexes, a throat infection can occur as a result of oral sex with an infected partner. In most cases there are no further symptoms but sometimes a sore throat is accompanied by fever.

i think that answer deserves a clap clap clap lolol

Most women who have gonorrhoea have no symptoms. When a woman does have symptoms, they most often appear within 10 days of getting the STD.

A woman may have these symptoms:

Pain or burning when passing urine
Vaginal discharge that is yellow or sometimes bloody
Bleeding between menstrual periods
Heavy bleeding with periods
Pain during sex
Any genital symptoms such as discharge, burning during urination, or pain during sex should be a signal to stop having sex and to see a doctor right away. Women with gonorrhoea are at risk of developing serious complications from the infection, whether or not there are symptoms.

Men and women with an anal infection might have symptoms that may include discharge, soreness, bleeding, or itching of the anus, and painful bowel movements. Infections in the throat may cause a sore throat but usually cause no symptoms. With an eye infection, symptoms may include redness, itching, or discharge from the eye.

Women don't always show any symptoms at all with any sti's,so the best way of finding out is to be tested, have a swab taken by your doctor or go visit a GUM clinic, they are always discreet so no worries there.

If left untreated it can cause all sorts of problems, including your fertility.

If you do have it for sure, make sure you tell the person/persons you have slept with too as they will also need to be treated, someone has passed that on to you in the first place.

Always play safe and you'll have less worries.

The primary point of infection in men is most often the urethra. About one in five infected men may not experience symptoms of gonorrhea; however the majority who do have symptoms may experience:

a yellow pus-like discharge from the tip of the penis
stinging during urination
frequent urination
blood in the urine
swelling of the glands in the groin
the head of the penis may turn red
Other symptoms such as are pain, swelling, discharge can occur when gonorrhea affects the throat or rectum of both women and men.

About half of those who are infected don't have symptoms. People who do not have symptoms may unknowingly transmit gonorrhea infections to their sex partners.

The throat, anus, urethra, and rectum are common areas of infection in both men and women. If symptoms are present, they may include painful urination, anal itching or bleeding, or abnormal discharge from the penis or vagina. Gonorrhea infection in the throat doesn't usually cause symptoms, such as a sore throat.

In men, symptoms are usually serious enough that they will cause a man to seek medical attention before complications occur. In women, the early symptoms are sometimes so mild that they are mistaken for a bladder infection or vaginal infection.

The incubation period—the time from exposure to gonorrhea until symptoms develop—is usually 2 to 5 days, but sometimes symptoms may not develop for up to 30 days.

Lab tests must be done to confirm gonorrhea infection. These tests may include taking samples of fluid from the affected areas (such as the urethra, rectum or throat) or taking urine samples.

Go to the doctor. About half the time, women don't get symptoms right away, but if you found out one of your boyfriends had the clap or even suspect it, you need to get to the doctor right away. If you don't have insurance, go to the free clinic.

smelly vaginal discharge.
Itchy vulva.
promiscous sex.
Not using barrier protection both increase risk.
sexual partner has similar symptoms.

Go to a Genitourinary clinic/sexual health, they are anonymous (UK i dont know about US)
Its not just gonorrhea, it normally goes hand in hand with Chlamydia, which in females can be devastating.
