FINALLY! haha a question i know a lot about.
Ok. my husband is a 25B and he searched and searched before he went in to find out SOMETHING and they all just said a little bit about nothing basically.
What i can tell you (since you have a security clearance for you job..i cant tell you a lot about it..opsec and such..) is that you will learn how to create an internet connection, maintain that internet connection, and you will learn about TONS of security measures on keeping that connection secure and safe.
My husband went to AIT at fort gordon (which is where we are now stationed) and im guessing you will go there too since its a signal training base. Its not so bad there...they have a lot of stuff for the soldiers to do and on the weekends you can go otu to the mall and the cab ride (if you have more than just you) is usually only 5 bucks a person. theres a movie theater on base, a swimming pool, bowling alley (this is where most of the ait guys hang out)..lots of hotels that people stay at off post. its not so bad. really. haha the training used to be 21 weeks but because of overflow of so many soldiers wanting to be 25B...they have started to shorten it. My husbands was only 14 weeks long.
Really...the 25B as my husband has told me is privelged. Hes now in Iraq and he said that when he went to help unload bags they said "your one of the 25B right?" and he said yeah obviously and they said "oh..well you can go..we can get this." and then they called some other guys over. haha You basically decide who gets a connection, when they get a connection, and you can take that connection away whenever you so please. He loves his job. He thinks its awesome to learn about a lot of the things he knows.
I can tell you more if you email me but..i cant just post it on the internet here :D
Good luck! I love my 25B!

A good technician looks up info, soaks it in like a sponge, applies it and fixes the problem.
You are not showing signs of a good technician. I suggest you accept the info or look into something much less complicated.

Are you sure the army is the best way to serve your country ?
Perhaps you should consider the peace corps.
It's very brave of you to join the army but in US and UK we can win the wars by improving social conditions and by denying the taliban the market for their drugs. So God bless you whatever you decide.
