Great? Absolutely! Not only is it the way to preserve your thoughts, records, etc., but it's a way to help you crystalize those thoughts in the first place. Until you're ready for someone else to see what you've written, you don't need to worry about things like organization and grammar; you just scribble what comes to you, or peck it out on the screen, and keep it to mull over. Sometimes doing something like this can get worries out of your system, and then you can erase the file or shred the paper and get on with things. In other cases, you can revise your concern, complaint, kind thoughts, or whatever, and pass them on to the right destination. (And what did you do just now to post your question?)

Well you started off wrong by asking for a lot of details. If one finds it horrible then you will get little response. I enjoy writing, however when it is done for a mid-term and torn to pieces because of improper MLA formatting or a grammatical error then it really takes away the joy of expression. I may be old, but I am a 4.0 student so get off my butt when you ask me to write a 6 page essay on my life!

Writing rules! You can be as descriptive or non-descript as you want and best of all you have total control! it's the best really because when you share all your thoughts with that pen and paper, you can simply tuck it away. Just be careful about who reads your idea feelings, etc. If you wrote something in anger, likely you will be over it and not mean those words, so just be careful where you let your "feelings" lay.
