If you accept the notion that God is the creator of life then you cant say he is wrong in destroying his creation. Could you say that a baker is wrong for throwing out bad bread or an artist for wadding up and throwing away his art? NO, it is their creation and thusly their "property". Thusly, you can not say God is wrong or sinning when he throws away or destroys his creation.

However if you dont accept that God created life then you may have an arguement that God is sinning. But if you believe in God and think that he somehow started a process that created life, then see the above paragraph.

Sin, by contextual definition in Torah is transgression of God's laws. Asking if God sins is illogical.

God is the omnipotent creator of everything and created all physical, living things, mortal. So, one could blame all death on God.

But what's the point?

EDIT: To Jeancommunicates, Your comments about the revelation at Sinai read as if you got your information about the story from Cecil B. DeMille rather than from the Torah.
I respectfully suggest to all to read the events from the book of Exodus. Far too many people appear to have never read the story.

According to the Torah, the entire nation of Israel was witness to the Divine presence at Sinai.

Two other major misrepresentations of the texts of the Torah were put forth as well:
1) There is no mention of any fall of angels in Torah ( that is from the Christian Bible)
2) There is no where in the Hebrew Bible that states that only blood atones for sin. That declaration only appears in the Christian Bible. Please read the link below at the page dedicated to explaining with contextual Torah reading, dispelling that widespread misconception about Judaism and the Torah.

Below it are the references to the many places in the New Testament that declare for Christians that it is the blood of a sacrificed Jesus that is their medium of atonement.

Then, lastly, a very good explanation of why no human sacrifice could ever be considered a medium for atonement from a Torah perspective.

Shalom :)

I agree with the idea that sin is disobeying God, therefore God is not a sinner. Killing is a sin because we put ourselves in God's place to judge and take life. We must be subject to God's law and the laws of society when it comes to human life.

No. God is The Judge and God judges sinners. The Hebrew people who Moses brought out of Egypt heard and saw the fire and smoke of God on Mount Sinai. These people saw the lightning and light that surrounded the mountain and were very afraid. They were so afraid they wanted Moses to talk to God and let them stay where they were. God gave Moses the Ten Commandments and these people messed with God's annointed man Moses and refused to obey God.

The people before Noah's flood were mixed with fallen angels and a wicked and perverted generation. Only Noah was pure in his bloodline without the mixing of evil.

God is not a sinner. God is a Righteous Judge who judges sin. God saw that man could not stop sinning and He sent His Son Jesus to take away the sins of the world. Without the blood of an unblemished Lamb there is no remission of sins.
Jesus' blood gave us an opportunity to reconnect with God and get eternal life back. God commands that we accept Jesus as our Savior and accept what Jesus did for us on the Cross. You don't get to God and eternal life without Jesus Christ.

Where does it say killing is a sin? (Other than in the mistranslation in the KJV of the ten commandments?) If killing were a sin David would have been damned for offing goliath etc. The original text doesn't say thou shalt not kill--what it really says is that you don't commit premeditated homicide--war and self defense excluded.

Or how many humans killed others then wrote in the Bible that God told them to. Or how many natural disasters were blamed on the "wrath of God." You can't read the bible literally. That's just nutz.

Well, if you acknowledge God as the giver of life, then he has the right to decide.

The deaths of those people after the flood are on their own heads. They had an opportunity to live and IGNORED it. If I tell you your house is burning and you choose to ignore my warning and stay in the burning house with your children and you all die, who bears the blame?

No. You're not using your brain. All sin is only against God. All sin is disobedience to God. God cannot "disobey" Himself.

The actions God forbids are for our benefit, not for His. He proscribes murdering people in order to implement a peaceful society. He regulates how we are to act with each other and with Him, not how He is to act.

He is God, Creator and King of the Universe. He is simply not above the Law, He IS the Law...

Technically it isn't the taking of life that is sin. MURDER is the sin, defined as unjustly or maliciously taking a life. God, being perfect in every way, is just in punishing those who hate him. Therefore God is not a sinner.
