The most basic core value is that of believing God to be One. God being the source of all things, Good or Evil. God having power over all things, being the creator of all things. That nothing can represent God (ie images, statues, human beings, buildings, etc). The oneness of God is vital to ponder on and understand. Then the basic 10 commandants are all in the Holy Quran and sum up much of the values we hold in Islam. You should however study deeper into this if you are doing a project for school. It's much safer to read things about Islam written by Muslims... not non-Muslims as they often has a hidden agenda to defame Islam or put some political spin on things.

I believe there are books and internet sites that would be of much more help, I would go there. I don't feel like doing your homework as well as my own.

See early Muslim values. Many I would say are relative to Jewish values.
