Stoke on Trent is on the main Virgin Inter City line from London Euston; many of these trains stop at Watford Junction
(Hertfordshire) and also Milton Keynes Central (Buckinghamshire) which is close to many towns in Bedfordshire. You can also catch a train from Bedford to Leighton Buzzard and change there for Milton Keynes, or catch trains from Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamstead, and Tring all in Hertfordshire and connect with the Stoke On Trent train at Milton Keynes. In all cases a through ticket will be available for the whole journey; booking ahead will probably save you money. If you are unable to book ahead travel after 09-30am and purchase a 'Saver' ticket.

You can go from Leighton Buzzard, but you'll need to change at Milton Keynes Central.
Stoke-on-Trent is on the Euston line.

Hello.Ring National Rail on 08457-484950 and speak to one of their advisors. They're pretty good and will tell you the information you will need to know.

try thetrainline, and put your optins in there it will even give you times and prices.
As an alternative, you could look at national express - it could be quicker if you can get a direct coach
