This is illustrative of the difference between Greek and Jewish learning. In the Greek method of learning, people ask for answers to questions they have. The purpose of the question is often to prove to the other person an answer they already have. We see this a lot in Y/A. People, myself included, ask a question with an answer in mind. Then many give a thumbs down if it's not the answer they already have.
If I were to have an audience with G-d, I'd just be there. If G-d wants to tell me something, then S/he can. If not, then that's fine, too. It would be enough just to be there.
Since, as Jews, we believe that G-d is truly everywhere, we already have this audience. I seldom ask questions. I study a lot and just absorb things. Then when a situation arises, the answer seems to come without asking questions. In fact, the purpose of my studying has come to the point where I enjoy the Devakut (cleaving) that occurs with G-d while I study much in the same way a calf enjoys sucking and doesn't examine the milk that comes out. Seldom do I consciously learn something. But the knowledge keeps piling up.

Dear Lord, do you mind lending me your power for just a month so you can take a leave?
EDIT:
@ the person who gave me (and the others) a thumb down, you should know that, unlike certain people, we have much better sense of humor. LOL
Paperback, can I put an 'alternative' remark or question to cheer up the person who disapprove my previous question above?
mama_pajama_1, excellent points as ever! Thumb up for you! Shalom :)

Why?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EDIT to Jasmine: perhaps because with an intimate relationship, one can feel free to say anything to God who knows all our inmost thoughts.
I already do my best to make amends and ask God for forgiveness when I've erred. My responses may be seen as flippant to you, but they speak to unanswered questions. I want to know everything. I want to know the why's of everything. I know I can't comprehend with my limited perspective, but it doesn't stop the wanting. As to my link..for God to stop all the bad things...if one believes that God created everything. EVERYTHING, then ultimately..God is to blame for it all. The buck stops here so to speak. Good, evil...the whole shebang..err big bang so to speak.
Abraham argued with God, Jacob wrestled with an angel of God..the very name Israel..struggle with God..defines that our place is to struggle to understand and fulfill our purpose and place and how better to do that than to ask....WHY? So while my question may have appeared flippant at first..on one level, perhaps it was the most profound.
( I think perhaps Gamla Joe and I are pretty close to the same general idea! LOL!)
Salaam
Shalom
Peace :)
EDIT: I love the quote from Moses by Michael J! Great answer, thumbs up!
What on earth does this have to do with Israel? Surely it would be better in the religion and spirituality section?
