Christmas shouldn't be scrapped and reinvented because the Muslims don't care if they offend the Christians or other religions. Let the Muslims celebrate the way they want to, the Islams celebrate the way they want to and the Christians celebrate the way they want to. No matter what you do, there will always be somebody that says we are racist pigs. Me, myself personally, I'm not changing anything for anybody and if they don't like it, then Oh well, they are just going to have ot deal with it.

No- You should scrap and reinvent Christmas so it's not some over-commerialized waste of a day that has no true religous meaning. Ask how many people REALLY know why they celebrate Christmas and few will know. I stopped celebrating Christmas LONG before I became Muslim and it was because of the complete lack of meaning.

This was the best-written question ever!
I think Christians and proud Brits in general should stick valiantly to Christmas; it’s their festival and let’s be fair but if the English can’t celebrate in their own country then it’s definitely a sad day isn’t it?

We will scrap our traditional celebrations and institutions when they do the same in their home land for our sake.
I lived in Saudi Arabia in the 1980's, and anyone found bringing in any kind of Christian items (Bibles, etc) would have them confiscated at customs. It was not allowed to openly practice any religious festivities other than those within the boundaries of Islam. Even the school Christmas pageant had to be called "The Holiday Pageant" so as not to upset them.
Tolerance will be met with tolerance. They preach an eye for an eye. They should heed their own words.

Why would we Christians do that? For us, December 25 is the day we celebrate the birth of Christ.
For Muslims, this season is to celebrate EID.
For Jews, this season celebrates Hanukkah.
For Pagans, this season has Winter Fest, or whatever they call it.
We've all got our holidays to celebrate ... let's all enjoy them :)

Er..excuse me, but why should we have to consider changing anything ?
Every faith should be allowed to respect their own festivals....& atheists like me should be allowed not to believe !!
Kids celebrate all kinds of religious festivals at school now....immigrants should be welcomed in the UK if they are decent people...maybe some of our Brit layabouts could learn from them !

Umm, let me tell you something, some Muslim organizations in Britain are defending the rights of the Christians to celebrate Xmas without any oppression from the government. You can read here if you wish to know the truth:

To hell with anyone who thinks or remotely believes that a time honoured tradition should be scrapped because they are to stupid and infedelic to know that what they are abusing and taking offence to is really none of their business and has nothing to do with them.

NO!!!! What they hell do they have to complain about. We have to sit around with the family and get bored, spend loads of money and spend ages wrapping stuff up.
They get two days of work and dont have to go through all that. They are the lucky ones.
I would happily be a little offended and get two extra days of work.

Muslims don't know how to "play the game."
They're like children who's feelings are hurt over every word. Until they toughen up and grow a thicker skin, they will always feel justified in reporting every little perceived slight, instead of taking on the challenge of a taunt. And others will laugh at that feeble retaliation.
