Because god, if it existed, has, for reasons of its own, chosen to hide its existence. Atheists, who draw conclusions based on evidence, have of course found none supporting the existence of any god, but theists, using their imagination instead of their common sense, choose to see a god where none is revealed. But god, reveling in intelligence and miffed by deliberate refusal to use it, could well appreciate the atheist position. Note that this is a backwards version of Pascal's wager.

Because the evidence that this God has presented has been inadequate to actually justify theism.
If this world is a test to determine if a person can determine the truth then the atheists are the ones who will pass it.

An atheist does what is right because it is right.
A theist usually does what is right because they think they know what god thinks is right.
God wants her children to be strong in themselves.
So, with that logic, She might well favor her atheist children over the theists.
Provided the atheists aren't being complete jerks about it.

If so, it would be because atheists take "God" more seriously.
It's more important to atheists to make sure that if they're going to believe in something, that they get it right, and that's why they're less prone to blind belief without reason. Despite the Bible's consistent referral to us as sheep, we're not sheep, we're thinking humans. (And if "God" gave us the ability to think and reason, then it would make sense that he/she would want us to use that ability, and not say "Well, I believe just 'cuz...")
And how impressed would "God" be that people say that *without* "God" they would have no morals, and would kill and steal and not be able to figure out the difference between right and wrong? Believers are renowned for saying that you need to fear "God" in order to do the right thing. Atheists find that to be completely ridiculous, because we know we're perfectly capable of figuring out how to do the right thing all on our own, and choose to do so *because* it's the right thing to do.

If she values honesty and discipline, she'd have to.
I think it's quite obvious that if there is a god, most of the believers are in deep trouble.

Less violent, logical, smart, don't go around shoving her beliefs... it's a good bet actually, any smart god would do that.

Because she, if she existed, is flawed. Also, if she did exist, she'd be nice and love us all and she'd stop all the pain in the world. There is no God.
