My first wedding, 35 years ago, I paid 500.00 for my dress...can just imagine what it would cost now lol. Too bad the marriage didn't last.....and I didn't keep the dress, either.
My second marriage I bought a very elegant three piece garnet red chiffon pants suit ( lined chiffon pants,& matching tank & long sleeved knee length over tunic with sparkly acccents) for 350.00......I have it cleaned and hanging up in my closet to wear again at any given wedding anniversary we decide to get all spruced up for a night on the town lol....

I will be in Thailand and I am goignt purchase the fabric there, which will be much cheaper than in the states, make a drawing of what I want, and have a seamstress sew it. All in all for a unique dress that suits me= $500.

Mine was $1100.00, my parents surprised me by offering to pay for my dress when I kept turning dresses down because they were too expensive. We are paying for the entire wedding on our own and my entire budget is about $5000, so a dress over $300 wasnt happening. It was the best surprise in the world when they offered to get whatever I wanted, and now it's somewhere being made, I wont get it untill a few weeks before my February 9th wedding!

31 years ago my wedding dress was £25. I stored it for years in a big carrier bag, but my house rabbit got into the wardrobe and chewed a big hole in it! It then went in the dustbin! Oh well, at least the marriage has survived!

£20 (UK) in 1970. It was very plain, heavy cream satin, impact in the cut. My salary at the time was about £900pa. I would have paid more, but it was the dress I had always wanted. It is now hanging up in my wardrobe, together with my Mother's from 1940, lilac silk and lace. Don't know how much that was, it was WW2, and she had it made.

Mine was $600. The alterations were $250. It's still in my mom's closet. That's where I went to change my clothes after the wedding. She offered to take it to get it preserved for me. I will probably keep it in storage until an occasion arrives where someone might want to use it either in part of in whole.

£125 from ebay shop Heiphy in Hong Kong. Looked like a £1k+ dress, no-one could believe I paid so little for it
It's in the wardrobe in the spare bedroom, probably where it'll stay for years (only been married 3 months)

The fabric to make the dress cost about $70 and the dress pattern was $13. So it cost $83 and my grandmother is making it which is free. It's still being made.
